Lohan Wants To Entertain Troops In Iraq

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Actress Lindsay Lohan wants to entertain U.S. troops in<FORM class=yqin action=http://yq.search.yahoo.com/search method=post>Iraq </FORM>and follow in the footsteps of her idol, Marilyn Monroe, who visited soldiers in Korea during the 1950s.

But first, Lohan plans to learn how to shoot a gun.

Lohan's interview comes a little more than a week after she was publicly chided by film producer James G. Robinson, who accused her of failing repeatedly to show up for work on time during the shooting of her latest film, "Georgia Rule."

Lohan's representatives had said the actress had been taken to the hospital for treatment of heat exhaustion. Heat exhaustion? And she wants to go to Iraq? Is she out of her mind? (well, yes)

And she wants to learn how to shoot a gun? What, is she gonna shoot some terrorists? What a joke of a celebrity. Get real.

While I've been less than impressed with her lately, if she ACTUALLY does it, I think she would deserve some respect. She doesn't get it just by talking though, she has to go through with it.

How many times have we said we wished the stars would go to Iraq?? I support her enthusiasm for going to support the troops...

As for guns, I'm all for gun ownership, and I support her using them but I sincerely hope she learns to use them responsibly.

If she wants to go, she should just do it and not make such a big deal about it beforehand. It makes her look like a press hound.

But, well.....what can one expect when she makes comments like these:

"I wanted to do what Marilyn Monroe did, when she went and just set up a stage and did a concert for the troops by herself," Lohan said. "It's so amazing seeing one woman just going somewhere, this beautiful sex kitten, who's basically a pinup, which is what I've always aspired to be."
