Bill Richardson became the first prominent national Democrat to call on Sen. Joe Lieberman to drop his independent bid for re-election in Connecticut.
Richardson, chairman of the Democratic Governors Association and a possible 2008 White House contender, called Lieberman "a good friend of mine" and a "true public servant."
But he said in a statement Thursday that he was backing Ned Lamont, the man who defeated Lieberman in this week's Democratic primary.
"I look forward to supporting Ned as he fights to help Democrats take back the Senate, and I call on Joe Lieberman to respect the will of the voters and step aside," Richardson said.

They follow the commie MO. The party comes first. The party does not like you, you're out.

In this case, the party are the commie millionaires like Soros, Kos, Streisand, etc. They are the ones who hold the purse strings so they rule. They don't like a pro-war on terror like Lieberman. They want a cut&run, anti-American, commie like Lamont. So Lieberman must step aside, or the rich commies will turn the money spigot off.

Bill Richardson is a dual citizen mexican reconquista. He has no loyalty to the United States. Lieberman should take Richardson's advice to step down, as a concrete mandate to go forward. Richardson is afraid that Lieberman will split the democrats and it absolutely should.

Richardson's doing nothing to Liebermann that the GOP hasn't done to Katherine Harris. Harris deserved their support even if they didn't think she could win, for her courageous performance in 00. I'm ashamed of the GOP for turning against her.
