Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who has told his people to prepare to rule the world and has warned of a light that will be in the sky on the Islamic holy night of Aug. 22, just means that Israel should be moved when he calls for wiping it from the face of the Earth, according to longtime CBS News personality Mike Wallace.

Wallace recently interviewed Ahmadinejad, who has been raising concern among leaders in the free world because of his nation nuclear program and his dedication to eliminating Irael. He described Ahmadinejad as a savvy, self-assured civil engineer who was elected by the Iranian people.

The 88-year-old Wallace, who is semi-retired, traveled to interview the Iranian president, whom he described as "impressive," "interesting" and "obviously smart as hell."

In an interview with talk-radio host Sean Hannity, Wallace defended Ahmadinejad's actions and statements. In the transcript posted on Radio Blogger, Wallace said the Iranian leader's comments about wiping Israel off the map aren't horrific.

I personally wish the U.S. would have rescinded the old man's visa and left him there in Iran

... a light that will be in the sky on the Islamic holy night of Aug. 22 ...If the camel-raping asswart continues to push the envelope, the light will be solar in intensity and consummately destructive, and Tehran will become a glass-lined crater.

Has it ever been confirmed that this Iranian "president" was one of the asswipes that stormed our embassy in Iran and held our people hostage for 444 days?

I've already dealth with Mahmoud Al-Wallace. I'm enjoying a cup of coffee right now, and I don't want it to come up again.

Mike Wallace is where I get my opinion of Chris Wallace. I just don't think the apple falls that far from the tree.

And it's just as rotten an apple ...

What really troubles me is how many of the reports he and the other put together as part of the award-winning "60 Minutes" team were pure and utter fiction--only we don't know it.

Best approach: it's all fiction unless proved otherwise.

Well, anything connected to Dan Rather has to be suspect. If Mike Wallace can't be trusted (as appears to be the case), then "60 Minutes" already has two strikes against it. It may hit a home run once in a while (i.e., put out a significant, factually accurate story), but don't hold your breath waiting for it.

The National Enquirer looks more reliable in comparison.

What i think here is this has GOT to be awful hard on Chris Wallace who works for FOX news and has vastly differing opinions than his old man does.

It has to be Very hard on Chris to see his old man embarrass him and his family in this way.

My prayers are to Chris Wallace and his family for having to put up with that old man who dont know when to just friggin RETIRE!

Wouldn't that be a pretty sight !

I'll buy stock of Windex , no smudges on the crater walls ...

Obviously Mike Wallace has acheived Senility. Annihilate does not mean move, it means kill. He has either lost his mind or the tiny little shreds of objectivity he had left.

Don't forget Andy Looney, Ed Bradley and Leslie Stahl...60 minutes is a video rag not worthy to line a virtual birdcage. Parakeets would suffer chronic constipation, realizing that their excrement is gold compared to the crap spewed on that show.
