Joe Lieberman must have taken some solace after his defeat by Connecticut Democratic Senatorial nominee Ned Lamont to hear his friend Dick Cheney come to his defense with the ludicrous and offensive assertion that the voters' endorsement of Lamont somehow emboldens terrorists.

I guess desperate people will cling to whatever life raft comes their way -- even if it's in the form of someone like Cheney.

And there was Lieberman last week in an equally pathetic attempt to exploit the terror plot discovered in Great Britain and somehow use it against Lamont, saying "If we just pick up as Ned Lamont wants us to do and get out by a date certain, it will be taken as a tremendous victory by the same people who wanted to blow up these planes in this plot hatched in England and it will strengthen them and they will strike us again."

Even forgetting that the majority of the American people now favor leaving Iraq and that the money we are wasting there could actually be used for real investigative work like the Brits just did, Lieberman is finding that Senate Democrats, less than a week after he lost his party's nomination, are already behind Lamont and repudiating Joe's right-wing views.

Senate Democrats, with one exception (well, two, if you include Joe himself), don't get to vote in Connecticut elections, however.

Lieberman has "right-wing views"? Lieberman, the gun-grabbing, pro-abortion, tax hiking, nanny-state Leftist?

This really illustrates how extreme the Democrats have become.

Anyone to the right of Stalin and Lenin is a right-winger to the current crop of leftist RAT bastards. And Feingold is a posterior orifice IAC.

Have you seen such an assault on a single person like the Dems are giving Lieberman? Talk about betrayal... This party is certainly showing its colors...

What is it about Lieberman that scares them so much that they feel the need to eat him alive like sharks in a feeding frenzy?

Ive never seen such classless lack of integrity among a single group of individuals... These open and unending attacks on Lieberman are designed to scare his potential supporters away from him this Fall... I hope the tactic backfires on the Dems... I hope the people of Connecticutt have the courage to vote what their hearts tell them to...

Very true. This shows that the Dummycrats have become a one-issue party and that's concerning the War on Terror that they want to surrender.

Absolutely. However, markus and Borgia will continue to tell us that communism is over. What we have now is the mildest, most tepid, almost imperceptible form of socialism. Extreme socialists to them, are as few and far between as Martians. They never, ever, met one - nor heard, nor read about one - in their lives.

The majority is more often than not wrong; and don't you believe in minority rights anyhow, that their voice should be both heard and heed taken, even preferential treatment given to? Egalitarianism and all that.

On wasting money, I agree we waste alot of money that could be better spent on security investigation: the IRS and your salary for starters. But then you really don't want to spend money on "investigative work" do you? It might end up being phone taps and so forth directed at an "ethnic profile". And you wouldn't want that, would you, Feingold? Thought not.

:nono: Lieberman should tell Russ Feingold, Howard Dean, & Bill Richardson to screw each other. They stabbed him in the back. Lieberman owes them nothing.

 Once the elections have passed, & the demonicrats have not taken control of congress like the polls say, then the polls about how Americans feel about Iraq will be suspect, to say the least. Besides, it's amazing how demonicrats cite majority opinion where it suits their convenience, & circumvents it where it doesn't.

The Democrats are scared to death of Joe Lieberman; if he wins as an Independent, he just might just take a page from the Jumping Jim Jeffords playbook and defect. Lord knows, he would get a better shake from the Republicans than he's getting from the Dims/Dems.

This sordid episode should serve as a lesson to all Democrats: Don't dare have an independent thought lest you incur the wrath of the Soros Moore Wing. They'll eat you alive.

I'd venture to say that the VAST majority of Americans "favor leaving Iraq." Maybe even 99% of them. The question is when.

Why are the RATs strangely silent about US troops that are still in Europe six decades after WW2 ended?

What's unbelievable is some of these Democrat Party leaders cautioned Lieberman not to run as an Independent because it would "hurt the party".

Feingold? A hard-core socialist, trying to impeach a president with NO grounds (constitutional, that is) whatsoever?

Dean, the worst choice ever by any American political party for chairman, just another limousine liberal who's crazy to boot.

Richardson? Is he American or Mexican, isn't he a citizen of both? Worst choice for the 2008 Democrat nominee of all, so he's worth watching.
