A reference in another thread got me thinking about Mel Brooks, who I think just may be one of the all time great comedic writers. I think I have seen every movie he's ever made, and laughed at each and every one. Are there any other Brooks fans?

I thought it would be a hoot to see how FANS would rank his movies, favorite to least favorite. With that in mind, here's my rankings:

History of the World: Part I (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082517/) (1981) (written by)
Blazing Saddles (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0071230/) (1974) (screenplay)
Robin Hood: Men in Tights (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0107977/) (1993) (screenplay)
Young Frankenstein (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0072431/) (1974) (screen story) (screenplay)
Spaceballs (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094012/) (1987) (written by)
Dracula: Dead and Loving It (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0112896/) (1995) (screenplay)
High Anxiety (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0076141/) (1977) (screenplay)
Life Stinks (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0102303/) (1991) (screenplay) (story)
Silent Movie (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0075222/) (1976) (screenplay)
The Producers (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0395251/) (2005) (1968 screenplay) (2001 stage play book) (2001 stage play lyrics) (screenplay)(I got these from Mel Brooks (IMDb) (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000316/) )

I tell ya one thing There'd be absolutely NO way in hell this show could ever see the light of day let alone be made, produced and shown.....

Blazing Saddles (1974) (screenplay)
THAT is an ALL-time classic and I have it and love it.

The only reason I rank Blazing Saddles below History of the Word, is because I am just not a big fan of "bathroom humor," and let's face it, BS is full of it, http://www.freeconservatives.com/vb/images/icons/biglaugh.gif. Although I'm sure, if a poll was taken, BS would rank higher :rotflmbo: (oh man, I crack myself up!!!!)

My favorite Mel Brooks movie is Space Balls. I loved the "Druish Princess" bit.

I just watched the Producers last night. I'm not as big into musicals but "springtime for hitler" was very very funny.
