These are the movies you saw for the first time when you were a child -- say between the ages of 8 and 12 -- or when you were a young teen. You thought they were great at the time. Really cool. Then you saw them again as an adult and wondered . . . what the hell was I thinking?
Earthquake
The Dirty Dozen
Airport
Animal House
Stripes
The Bad Seed

Well. I saw one of those movies: The Bad Seed. The old one in black and white.
It think it's stood up pretty well over time.

Put me down for Twister.
Oh, but it was hilarious. The special effects were pretty fun watching on the big screen, to be sure. But, c'mon. Tornado chasers getting that close to tornados in increasing intensity as the movie rolled on to its ludicrous climax stretched credulity like Michael Moore stretching a jock strap.

Well, it's all about what you think, really. The movies I listed I really liked as a kid, but didn't like as an adult.

I agree with Boat on Twister.
I would also add:
Rambo

Well. I thought The Bad Seed was a good movie the first time I saw it. I saw it again a couple of years ago on TMC. I thought it was still good. That's why I don't wonder " . . . what the hell was I thinking? . . . "
I guess I didn't understand the question.
I'm not sure I understand the question yet.
I can't think of a movie I saw as a "kid" long time since I've been a kid] that I liked, and that I don't like now.
Maybe because I grew up out in the country and didn't have access to movies except on rare occasion, I didn't see a lot of movies as a kid.
I saw North To Alaska as a kid, at the Royal Theatre in Tulia, Texas. I laughed myself silly; I saw it a while back and laughed myself silly, so I guess that one stood up, too.
I do know that in my opinion, an original movie is always better than a remake.
For instance: Leave Her to Heaven was remade twenty or so years ago with Patrick Duffy and Loni Anderson. The remake wasn't even remotely interesting, much less entertaining.
