I recently attended an advance screening of ABC’s outstanding, epic miniseries "The Path to 9/11" (airing this September 10-11), and I came away enormously impressed. Writer/producer Cyrus Nowrasteh ("Into the West"), director David Cunningham ("To End All Wars"), and the whole production team have done a magnificent job in presenting the complex events leading up to 9/11 with accuracy, fairness, and artistry.

The writing, acting, directing, editing, cinematography, and overall story-telling are first-rate. "The Path to 9/11" is fast-paced and thoroughly gripping the entire way. The five-hour miniseries (aired over two nights) is based on the 9/11 Commission report, and also on ABC News correspondent John Miller’s book, "The Cell." ABC is going to air the first three hours on Sunday, September 10, and the final two hours (which culminate in a shattering depiction of 9/11) on Monday, September 11.

Let me start by saying that "The Path to 9/11" is one of the best, most intelligent, most pro-American miniseries I've ever seen on TV, and conservatives should support it and promote it as vigorously as possible.

This is the first Hollywood production I’ve seen that honestly depicts how the Clinton administration repeatedly bungled the capture of Osama Bin Laden.

A furious Bill Clinton is warning ABC that its mini-series "The Path to 9/11" grossly misrepresents his pursuit of Osama bin Laden - and he is demanding the network "pull the drama" if changes aren't made. Clinton pointedly refuted several fictionalized scenes that he claims insinuate he was too distracted by the Monica Lewinsky sex scandal to care about bin Laden and that a top adviser pulled the plug on CIA operatives who were just moments away from bagging the terror master, according to a letter to ABC boss Bob Iger obtained by The Post.

Top officials of the Clinton administration have launched a preemptive strike against an ABC-TV "docudrama," slated to air Sunday and Monday, that they say includes made-up scenes depicting them as undermining attempts to kill Osama bin Laden.
Former secretary of state Madeleine K. Albright called one scene involving her "false and defamatory." Former national security adviser Samuel R. "Sandy" Berger said the film "flagrantly misrepresents my personal actions." And former White House aide Bruce R. Lindsey, who now heads the William J. Clinton Foundation, said: "It is unconscionable to mislead the American public about one of the most horrendous tragedies our country has ever known."

I have a comment to President Clinton--too bad.

It's your policies that caused the problem in the first place, so :stfu:

I must have already read ten different articles this morning, outlining Bubba's objections to the movie, as well as Maddie Halfbright and Sandy "Stuff-The-Classified-Documents-In-Your-Underwear" Burger, raising the same fuss.

The media is going right along with Clinton and Company, giving them and their henchmen a voice in denouncing the movie as pure fiction.

I figure by the time it airs, half the country will already believe it's all made up; in another week, there won't be a handful of people who watched the movie and know it's the truth.

I'm clearing the decks around here for Sunday and Monday: I'm taking the phone off the hook, and the grandkids are going to be fed, showered, watered, read to, prayers said, and in bed with the lights out, because I don't want any interruptions on either night.

I can just see it now. "I will not have you destroy my legacy by telling the truth!"

Lemme see if'n I gots dis right...Mikhail Mooronski makes makes a "docudrama" made up out of thin air. It is a blatant falsehood that takes many people (all republicans) far out of context. It is hailed as the greatest thing since sliced bread by the leftist sleazebags listed in this thread.

Now, an historically accurate DOCUMENTARY is made and these same pieces of human refuse are pitching a hissy fit.

I'm going to make damned sure I DO watch it, now...wasn't going to until the crap hit the fan.

That old saw that my mother used to recite about, "The hit dog always howls first", comes to mind.

If Clinton and Company are raising this much hell, you have to know that this documentary has hit waaaaaaaaay too close to home.

I saw a clip or two from the movie, and the Lewinski angle is played up; Clinton diddling the fat intern with a cigar while bin Laden is plotting to blow up the world.

Hillary has to be seething.

More "Legacy" Mr. Clinton?

EDIT: Am I the only one who believes that Sandy Berger was not only taking documents out of the National Archives, but he may have also been taking doctored documents [ala Dan Rather] into the NA, perhaps in an effort to "correct the historial record"?

Don't ever put anything past the Clintons and their minions --during or after the presidency.

ABC's upcoming five-hour docudrama "The Path to 9/11" is quickly becoming a political cause célèbre.

The network has in recent days made changes to the film, set to air Sunday and Monday, after leading political figures, many of them Democrats, complained about bias and alleged inaccuracies. Meanwhile, a left-wing organization has launched a letter-writing campaign urging the network to "correct" or dump the miniseries, while conservative blogs have launched a vigorous defense.

I wish this thread was combined with the second thread on this same subject.

I'm so lame brained that I can't keep up with two.

A former military aide to President Clinton who claims he witnessed several missed opportunities to capture or kill Osama bin Laden says the producer of the ABC mini-series "The Path to 9/11" came to him in frustration after network executives under a heavy barrage of criticism from former administration officials began pressing for changes to the script. In an interview with WND, retired Air Force Lt. Col. Robert "Buzz" Patterson said producer and writer Cyrus Nowrasteh called him the morning of Sept. 1, explaining he had used Patterson's book "Dereliction of Duty" as a source for the drama.
