'Girls Gone Wild' Company, Founder to Pay $2.1M in Sexual Exploitation Case

Wednesday, September 13, 2006

WASHINGTON — The company that produces the "Girls Gone Wild" tapes of young women baring their breasts and acting in other sexual situations pleaded guilty Tuesday to federal charges and agreed to pay fines totaling $2.1 million.

Mantra Films Inc., based in Santa Monica, Calif., made the plea in U.S. District Court in Florida on charges of failing to maintain proof of age and identification for its young performers in sexually explicit films. It also failed to label its DVDs and videotapes properly as required by federal law.

A second company owned by Mantra's founder, MRA Holdings LLC, entered into a deferred agreement on charges of improper labeling. Under that agreement with prosecutors, the charges would be dismissed after three years if MRA Holdings cooperates with future government prosecutions, admits wrongdoing and pays fines.

The two companies and their founder, Joseph Francis, will pay $2.1 million in fines and restitution, the Justice Department said.........http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,213496,00.html

Do the women have to have brown spots and wrinkles to convince them that they are of age or do they have to flash their Drivers License on the camera for 15 minutes before filming ?

How stupid of them to slack off on IDing a few women to identify their age. If they go bankrupt its their fault.

The most boring videos around are the Girls Gone Wild series, for the curious ones. I'd rather watch mildew grow on a shower curtain.

If they go bankrupt its their fault.I seriously doubt that. They are among the best selling videos of all time.

NO!! Say it isn't so, Peach!! A loyal democrat, the great bastion of opposing the exploitation and objectification of women, makes videos that do nothing but exploit and objectify. I don't believe it!!! This would mean that he's a hypocrite and we all know that the Dems have the absolutely highest level of integrity of any party on the face of the Earth.

I now need to take a long hot shower after that load of BS.....
