Not a fan of country music or tired of there only being country musicans that support the war in iraq and war on terrorism ?

Well I got news: KISS(Gene Simmons) is a supporter of the war in iraq and the war on terror and a strong supported of the Israel war against Lebanon. I saw an interview of him on TV once where he made it clear of his support for the war etc.

August 26, 2006
Kiss' Gene Simmons Sends Get Well Video to Wounded Israeli Soldier
PASADENA, Calif. — The flamboyant, Israeli-born rocker Gene Simmons (http://javascript<b></b>:siteSearch('Gene Simmons');) has sent a televised message of support to am Israeli soldier seriously wounded in fighting in Lebanon, calling him his 'hero.'
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,210599,00.html

Next: Ted Nugent
Nugent's views translate to his politics (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Politics), and according to an interview in Independent (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Independent) the "law and order fanatic" "thinks homosexuality (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homosexuality) is an abomination" and is an outspoken supporter of the Republican Party (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republican_Party_%28United_States%29) and the United States (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States) military. As a reward for entertaining U.S. troops in Iraq (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iraq) in 2004 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2004), he visited Saddam Hussein (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saddam_Hussein)'s war room. "It was a glorious moment. It looked like something out of Star Wars (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars). I saw his gold toilet (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toilet). I shat in his bidet (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bidet)."

Nugent lives near President George W. Bush (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_W._Bush)'s ranch (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ranch) in Crawford (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crawford%2C_Texas), Texas (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas) and said he caught Bush's attention at his private inauguration party in 2000 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2000). "When he noticed me, he was surrounded by these huge bankrollers from his campaign. He literally swept past all of them and said, 'Laura (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laura_Bush)! Look who's here! 'It's Ted! Then he hugged me and took me by the shoulders. He said, 'Just keep doing what you're doing. Don't think that we don't know what you're up to out here. Stay on course.'"

Yet Nugent does not find Bush conservative enough, thinking the president should take more forceful action on Iraq. "Our failure has been not to Nagasaki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atomic_bombing_of_Nagasaki) them," he said. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ted_Nugent

Next: Punk Rocker Johnny Ramone of 'The Ramones'

Although never a "closet Republican (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Republican_Party)," (many around him said he was vocal about his opinions), Johnny made his political affiliation known to the world in 2002 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2002), when the Ramones were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_and_Roll_Hall_of_Fame). After thanking everyone who made it possible — clad in his trademark T-shirt, ripped blue jeans and leather jacket — Johnny said "God bless President Bush (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_W._Bush), and God bless America (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States)," [1] (http://www.washingtontimes.com/entertainment/20040311-085521-1823r.htm). He said in an interview, when questioned on his conservatism, "I think Ronald Reagan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronald_Reagan) was the best President of our lifetime."

On September 15 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/September_15), 2004 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2004), he died in his Los Angeles (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Los_Angeles%2C_California) home after a five year battle with prostate cancer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prostate_cancer). After his death, his remains were cremated.

Anyone know of any other 'Rock' musicians that are Pro-War ?

Isn't Kid Rock one of 'em?

Yes. I just searched him.

Kid Rock is known for his outspoken political views. He has been a supporter of U.S. President (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._President) George W. Bush (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_W._Bush). He was scheduled to perform at a pre-inauguration youth concert for President Bush, but the profanity and sexual innuendo in his lyrics caused the Bush campaign to reconsider. Rock's lyrics for "Pimp of the Nation," which mention "pimpin' Barbara Bush (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbara_Bush)," either the President's mother or daughter, may also have acted as a deterrent.

Kid Rock was arrested in February of 2005 and charged with misdemeanor assault after a fight with a strip club DJ in Nashville, Tennessee.[3] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kid_rock#_note-2)

The California pornography (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pornography) company Red Light District (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Light_District) claims to have acquired a 1999 sex tape (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sex_tape) in which Kid Rock and Creed (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creed_%28band%29) frontman Scott Stapp (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Stapp) engage in sex acts with four groupies (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Groupie). They plan to release the tape in 2006. Counsel for Kid Rock and Scott Stapp have obtained a temporary injunction to prevent the video from being distributed online. Rock's attorneys are seeking to convert the TRO into a Permanent Injunction, thereby assuring that the tape never sees the light of day.

Alice Cooper (http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=26066):

ALICE COOPER has told the Canadian Press that all the rock stars campaigning for Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry are guilty of one thing: treason. The shock-rock legend, a staunch Republican who attends NBA games in Phoenix with Arizona Senator John McCain, was disgusted when he learned of plans by Bruce Springsteen, John Mellencamp, R.E.M. and other bands to hold a series of concerts aimed at unseating U.S. President George W. Bush.

"To me, that's treason. I call it treason against rock 'n' roll because rock is the antithesis of politics. Rock should never be in bed with politics," says the 56-year-old Cooper, who begins a 15-city Canadian tour on Aug. 20 in Thunder Bay, Ont.

“If you’re listening to a rock star in order to get your information on who to vote for, you’re a bigger moron than they are. Why are we rock stars? Because we’re morons. We sleep all day, we play music at night and very rarely do we sit around reading the Washington Journal.”

In his knee-high Dr Martens and with his head shaved, Michale Graves is the Bush-friendly face of punk rock.

He is the front man for the band Gotham Road, which has just kicked off its US tour.

On stage he belts out angry, obscure lyrics, but offstage he is also known for his conservative rants and raves.

"The leftist radical agenda seems to be resonating loudly from within pop culture and we are at war on many different levels," he wrote in one of his columns at conservativepunk.com - one of several new web sites for Republican punk rockers.

Alice Cooper does the night show on a local radio station here. Put that thing on at night while you sleep and get some really weird dreams.

LOL, Alice Cooper used to live near me in Paradise Valley. He and Charles Barkley were very involved in the community events. I'd see him at the Suns games and he really is a nice guy underneath.... he's not one of those pricks that refuse to sign for autographs. His shock is really just for show. ;)

I met Alice once outside the Ritz in East Detroit, myself and a couple friends stood in the parking lot talking to him for a good 45 minute. To look at him and then to talk to him you'd swear you were dealing with 2 different people. Another one of the "don't judge a book" icons. Total freak at most times, but one of the most intelligent and articulate people you could talk to.

Also saw him in South Carolina, when he attended the BMW Pro-Am golf tourney. Working at the BMW plant, I had the opportunity to learn that he's a pretty decent amateur golfer. Not something you would expect to see a older goth/shock rock hippy doing.

I'm glad all you folks who don't care for Country Music have a genre to turn to.

I'm glad all we folks who don't care for Rock have a genre to turn to.

Wouldn't it be a dead-dull world if we all liked the same things --food, music, home decor, movies, books, music . . . to name a few.

Personally, I listen to nearly everything. My CD collection includes the likes of Grateful Dead, Kiss, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Hank Williams (both Sr. and Jr.) Guy Clark, Billy Joe Shaver, David Allan Coe, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, The Trans Siberian Orchestra, The London Philharmonic, quite a few collections of Mozart, Bach, Beethoven. Then I have some more obscure stuff, such as Leo Sayer, Berry McGuire, Gilbert O'Sullivan, etc... some of the older "singer/songwriters".

Then of course, I have allot of the finer points of the "hippy era", the likes of Hendrix, Mott The Hoople, John Kay, with and without Steppenwolf.

I have some Niel Diamond, a few by Paul Simon. two or three from The Sex Pistols, Madness, Hole. I even dabble into some of that Seattle "yuppie rock" (thats what I refer to it as), stuff like Nirvana, Spin Doctors, Smashing Pumpkins, Crash Test Dummies, etc.

The only thing you will NEVER find in my CD collection is Rap. I do not allow that on my stereo. In fact, if it were up to me, there would be a law making it legal to pull any little urban wigger you hear playing it, out of his car, and beat his ass in the street.

Doesn't have to be one or the other. I listen to nearly everything, including country AND rock. Just, never rap. Ugh!

" . . . Doesn't have to be one or the other. . . . "

For you.

For me it's different.

My love for "rock" ended with the Beach Boys, which, by the way, coincided with the advent of Acid Rock.

After that, it all got to be just screeching voices and blaring atonal
guitars.
