With just 1 and a half game back on St Louis the Astros are on a 8 game winning streak. We just might see a second year in a row post season with Roger Clemens. They won tonight in the 15th inning 7-6 victory.

As the great Yogi Berra said, “It ain’t over til’ it’s over.” It sure looked over for the Astros a week ago. Suddenly, they started playing like the team that took the National League pennant last year following an incredible 12-game winning streak, and one REALLY LONG game against the Braves, which propelled us into the World Series.
It looked over last night when the Astros were down 6-1 against the Pirates in the fifth inning. But they plugged along. For FIFTEEN innings! The Astros are still in this thing. As of this writing, they are building on a NINE-GAME winning streak.
You gotta beleeeeve!

I gotta lot of respect for the Astros. They remind me of Anaheim Angels back when they were the underdogs who came and conquered the Yankees,Twins and Giants in 2002.
Roger Clemens - excellent pitcher even though hes 44 years old.
Roy Oswalt - excellent pitcher and number 2 ace on the NL pitching.
L. Berkman .317 batting avg and 44 HRs.
It would be awsome if they do go to the World Series again. I'd like to see Roger Clemens get a World Series win at age 44.
Some more news 'Pedro Martinez' is out for the post season. Mets lost their Ace pitcher. That gives Houston another shot at going to the World Series. Mets are gonna be a tough team to beat in the NLCS but I got a feeling they are gonna fall to either Padres,Phillies,Houston.

Ending a year of speculation, long-time Houston Astro Jeff Bagwell has officially called it quits. The last few years have not been kind to the platoon leader. An arthritic shoulder benched him for good after having suffered injuries that hurt his game for the last three years. I last watched him swatting air during the World Series. It seemed an ignominious way to end a career that began with the Houston Astros and ENDED - What's that you say? Ended? Yes! Ended! - with the SAME team after 16 seasons.
When Bagwell came to Houston, he joined a team that was a whopping 29 games out of first place. His rookie card shows a scrawny guy without his signature goatee wearing that hideous Rainbow Jersey. By the end of his career, he compiled a record any baseball player would envy:
National League Rookie of the Year;
Only first-base player with more than 400 home runs and 200 stolen bases;
One of six players to have 30 home runs, 100 RBIs and 100 runs in six consecutive seasons;
Four-time All-Star player;
Astros team leader in hits, homers, RBIs, walks and extra-base hits;
Finished three homers shy of Red Sox Hall-of-Famer Yaz (Carl Yastrzemski).
The accolades in the media don't mention one other reason why I think Bagwell should be inducted in the Hall of Fame. As a team leader and companion of Craig Biggio, he was instrumental in maintaining some decorum in the Clubhouse. NO ASTROS PLAYER EVER WORE AN EARRING ON THE FIELD. That's reason enough to put him on a pedestal. Yeah, and you can tell Barry Bonds where to put his ear studs, too.

Best of luck, Jeff "Brown Paper" Bagwell, as Chris Berman so oftened called him.
Ironic, he finishes 3 homers short of Red Sox legend Carl Yastrzemski, a member of a team that traded Bagwell to the Astros. The Astros got the better end of that one!
Yes! Ended! - with the SAME team after 16 seasons
And that is something I'd like to see more of!

Astros look good for 07.
They got Carlos Lee and Lance Berkman for their batting lineup.
