THe story is currently developing that the Page, & some of his friends plotted a 'prank' that simply got out of hand, & some admitted they sent out volumes of the e-mail messages that were lurid in detail.
Check out Drudge.
Nobody can excuse Foley's sick behavior, ..but its the Page's intent, & the political opponents, & media who blew this way out of proportion.
Where does Drudge get his info from? If its correct, ..the democrats are going to be 'soiled' over it. :roar: Dumb democrats for going way over the top.

CLAIM: FILTHY FOLEY ONLINE MESSAGES WERE PAGE PRANK GONE AWRY
**World Exclusive**
**Must Credit the DRUDGE REPORT**
According to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, Edmund, a conservative Republican, goaded an unwitting Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats.
The primary source, an ally of Edmund, adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of Edmund. Both are fearful that their political careers will be affected if they are publicly brought into the investigation.
The prank scenario only applies to the Edmund IM sessions and does not necessarily apply to any other exchanges between the former congressman and others.
The news come on the heels that Edmund has hired former Timothy McVeigh attorney, Stephen Jones.

It's all over the talk shows. It's all politics again.
Ok. Providence has given Republicans this gold bar. If 'pubs do not use it to full advantage, then we deserve to lose and the country will be f***.

Are you counting threads, Rhino?
If you are, you're right about the number of threads getting out of hand. It would make so much more sense if once athread is started, any subsequent article is posted and linked simply as a "post" instead of a new thread. I post subsequent articles on threads a lot because I believe it makes the subject matter easier to follow, and it follows in time sequence.
EDIT: For instance, here's a link to Clarice Feldman's piece in the American Thinker.

I think Clarice is going to be the one to follow. She seems to be getting facts together at a rapid pace.
EDIT: Here's another. And remember, CREW is Soros-funded.
Watchdog Group Disputes FBI's Claims on E-Mails
By Dan Eggen
Washington Post Staff Writer

The watchdog group that first provided the FBI with suspicious e-mails from then-Rep. Mark Foley (http://projects.washingtonpost.com/congress/members/f000238/) (R-Fla.) said yesterday that FBI and Justice Department officials are attempting to cover up their inaction in the case by making false claims about the group.
Law enforcement officials said the allegations by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) are without merit, and they stood by allegations that the group had refused to provide some information to the FBI.
The dispute is the latest controversy this week for CREW, a liberal-leaning group that has come under attack from House Speaker J. Dennis Hastert (http://projects.washingtonpost.com/congress/members/h000323/) (R-Ill.) and other Republicans because it has received money from a foundation funded by liberal financier George Soros.
CREW held a news conference Monday to announce that in July it had provided the FBI suspicious e-mails between Foley and a former House page. The group criticized the bureau for not taking more aggressive action and asked Justice Department Inspector General Glenn A. Fine to investigate the FBI's handling of the case.
