271,000 new jobs were created in September 2006, bringing the total of new jobs created since President Bush took office to 8.85 million. Even more remarkable is the fact that 11.35 million new jobs have been created since the low point of the Clinton Recession (January 2002) that President Bush inherited.
The unemployment rate is down to 4.6%, meaning that we are in a period of full employment.
