...It's innate in me to be a Democrat--a true Southern populist kind of Democrat. There's not a lot of those anymore. I'm not saying I'm right or wrong. That's just the way I feel. The issues that matter to me are the social safety nets for people, health care, middle-class concerns. We need to take care of the middle class and the poor in our country. The chasm is getting larger between haves and have-nots, and that's something we need to close down a little bit...That is an outright lie! What a bunch of neo-Marxist demogogery.

BTW, Tim - another question: How can you expect people to take you seriously when you say things like this?:
"I love Bill Clinton. I think we should make him king. I'm talking the red robe, the turkey leg--everything."

I would love to take this moron and give him wall-to-wall counseling on the virtues of putting a cork in one's mouth and S'ingTFU about politics and sticking to their music, however tacky it is.

Here it comes, a Dipsy Chicks, Tim McTax joint concert in support of your local Democratic candidate. Maybe they'll show up at the induction ceremony for the next UN Gen. Sec. and sing us their rendition of "WAR!!".

…looks like Faith Hill is stuck on stupid too
Now two stuck on stupid country music singers, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, have decided to jump on the attack Bush bandwagon riding the Katrina Blame Game wagon train.
"There's no reason why someone can't go down there who's supposed to be the leader of the free world Ľ and say, 'I'm giving you a job to do and I'm not leaving here until it's done. And you're held accountable, and you're held accountable, and you're held accountable,” McGraw chided President Bush. "'This is what I've given you to do, and if it's not done by the time I get back on my plane, then you're fired and someone else will be in your place. '"
Let’s see, McGraw’s fellow liberal Democrats are calling for the impeachment of President Bush for intercepting the international phone calls of suspected terrorists to protect the country from another terrorist attack, but he thinks the President has the authority to just snap his fingers and fix things or just start firing people if it doesn’t get fixed?
Faith Hill was even more stuck on stupid. "I fear for our country if we can't handle our people [during] a natural disaster. And I can't stand to see it. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out point A to point B. . . . And they can't even skip from point A to point B. It's just screwed up."
Does she mean driving school buses and trains loaded with residents of New Orleans going from point A before the storm hit to point B? Would the Mayor and Governor, who definitely aren’t brain surgeons, actually following the state plan of evacuation have been point A, then the Governor following protocol at the national level to get federal help... like Mississippi and Alabama did... been point B?

I fear for our country if we can't handle our people [during] a natural disaster.
Odd, I said the opposite when this all occurred. Something along the lines of "I fear for our country when OUR PEOPLE can't handle THEMSELVES in a natural disaster." Therein lies the trouble with our country, Faith.

Seriously guys, take it easy on him. He's a nice guy, and wants whats best for people, he's just goes about doing in the wrong way. His hearts in the right place, but his actions aren't. He's just a confused individual. Furthermore, he rarely dabbles in politics. This is one of the few times you'll ever see him talk politics. So lighten up, will ya'? After all, it's not like he said "impeach stupid bush" or anything...

Sorry Teenager, you are just wrong about this one:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_McGraw (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_McGraw)
"In a 2004 interview, McGraw said he would like to run for public office in the future, possibly for Senate (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Senate) in his home state of Tennessee (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tennessee). In the same interview, he praised former President (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_President)Bill Clinton (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Clinton), a somewhat unusual stance in the conservative country music industry, which used to be more Liberal with groups such as Alabama: "I love Bill Clinton. I think we should make him king. I'm talking the red robe, the turkey leg - everything." "
"In early 2006, McGraw reaffirmed his plans for running for public office, saying that he would like to run for Governor of Tennessee (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Governor_of_Tennessee) about 10 years down the road. He is a member of the Democratic Party (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democratic_Party_%28United_States%29). He has said he would be open to running for the Senate (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Senate), but leans toward governor saying, "It's more of a leadership role, and I think that's something that I'd do well...that doesn't rule out senator; I just think that as governor of a state, there would be a lot more opportunities to make some decisions and change some things." [3] (http://news.scotsman.com/latest.cfm?id=64632006)
McGraw has been a huge supporter of President Bill Clinton (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Clinton), Vice President Al Gore (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Gore), and other Democrats, and Time (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_%28magazine%29) has called him "one of the few vocal Democrats in country." [4] (http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1196419-3,00.html)"

"I think it's something I'd do well," McGraw, who is a Democrat, tells the February issue of Esquire magazine (on stands Monday). He announced his plans to run for governor of Tennessee someday. "I just think as governor of the state, there would be a lot more opportunities to make some decisions and change some things."
It's not the first time McGraw has expressed an interest in politics. In 2004, he told Time magazine: "I want to run for the Senate from Tennessee. Not now, but when I'm 50."

Yeah, I'll take him seriously when he sells a lot and gives it to the poor. Otherwise, he needs to shut up and sing...

That was ham, DTS. A big, fat well smoked (but not inhaled) ham. But you know what, that kind of fits BJ's m.o. Have you ever noticed Hillary's hocks. Smoke those puppies up and you'd have enough for about 80 gallons of bean soup.
