Former Boxing Champ Trevor Berbick Murdered

Trevor Berbick, the last man to beat Muhammad Ali, has been murdered near Kingston, Jamaica. Police say he was killed with a hatchet or machete.


The former world heavyweight champion, who died on Saturday, lost his world title to Mike Tyson.
Berbick beat the legendary Ali in 1981 and in 1986 briefly held the world title before being beaten by Tyson.

I had that fight on video, but it has been stolen. I recorded it from HBO, November 22, 1986. There was sooooooooo much hype before that fight.

Everybody thought "Michael" Tyson would get knocked out. The fight lasted about 2 rounds, maybe less. Berbick kept trying to get up but kept falling down after he took a punch to the forehead. I thought Berbick looked fat and slow, but Tyson looked very cut and lean. That was when Mike Tyson was a great boxer.
