My Buddy Joe came to visit this weekend. Joe and I date back to 1977 he is the oldest friend I have. He visits twice a year.

In my township they let us burn debris the first Saturday of every month. I have a very wooded lot so I get tons of branches and tree falling over so I like to take advantage of the opportunity to pollute the skies legally. Joe and I had a burn day to remember yesterday. We cleaned up 4 trees and numerous branchs..... and as I did that I cooked dinner on the bon fire. I made some ribs that were to die for, and the roasted garlic potatoes and mushrooms couldn't have been cooked better. Afterward he and I sat by the fire drank some Jack smoked cigars and talked about life and about where it has taken us and where we want to be in the future. Just a Wonderful day!!! Friends are nice to have.....

:moo: His name is Ben. He once registered here as BenjiD, but he never posted anything. Not that I didn't needle him about it enough.

2. How long have you known them for and where did you meet them?

:moo: I was his Sunday School teacher, when I was a senior, & he was in the 4th grade. We didn't really become friends, until after I got back from college, for good. By then, he was in high school.

:unsmile: Fortunately not.

:moo: A donut, preferably from Dunkin'®.

:moo: My computer table/desk.

:moo: I've never seen a ghost, but that doesn't mean that they don't exist. I don't believe we should try to contact the deceased, but I do believe those that have gone to Heaven can still watch over us.

9. Have you ever purchased or sold something on Ebay?

:moo: No, but after a Tickle-me-Elmo doll sold for $5000, I can only wonder how much I'd get for an old Garfield suction-cup stick doll. Those were a big fad in 1988. I have three of them, one which is brand new.

10. What was the last thing you bought at a yard sale, garage sale ,Flea market

:moo: The last thing I remember buying was a Garfield suction-cup stick doll. The young lady that marked the prices only wanted a dime for it.

Bagels simply because their healthier, but I like a good donut on occassion.

Dunkin' Donuts is the best although they're not around here anymore. We're stuck with Krispy Kreme.

I do believe in ghosts to a certain extent. The only thing unexplainable to me is how Jessica Simpson continues to have a career but that's something else entirely.

Not yet, I plan on selling a crapload of CDs on Ebay soon enough (Over 400.) They are all on my iPod and I have no room for them to store anywhere, and I need the money.

Last garage sale was about 15 years ago, I bought three Vinyl Records, Genesis "Abacab", Prince "Purple Rain", Michael Jackson "Thriller", and Huey Lewis and the News "Sports." The last three I still have, but I have no clue where the Genesis album went.

Oldest as in age, or oldest as in longest known? Since I don't know which is meant, I'll answer both.

Longest Known: Anna

2. How long have you known them for and where did you meet them?

Melonie, 54, known her for about 6 years but only became friends recently when the boys (her son, my son) started taking the same college program 1-1/2 years ago.

Anna, 43, we went to middle school & high school together. Lost track of each other for a while, but she tracked me down on the net, and we reestablished contact. She was the one I mentioned on here several times, lost her house, car, and job due to Katrina, and had her first child at 41 years old (2 years ago).


3. What is your favorite type of sausage?

Smoked, hot & spicy (preferred brand: Georgia Boy)

4. Do you know anyone that smokes a Pipe?

Knew. My (late) father.

Would depend upon the morning -- some mornings I want something sweet (donut), some mornings I want something salty (garlic bagel with heavy cream cheese).

I made a faux stained glass window for my pastor and his family for his birthday. I used an old window from a remodeled church. I made 9 squares and put each member of his family in a square (painted a representation of them) and used the last square to represent two children they lost (two white doves on an olive branch with halos).

Two: Patsy B. and Connie H., and even though we're half a continent apart, we still thick as theives.

2. How long have you known them for and where did you meet them?
I've known Connie H. longer than Patsy B. by a couple of years. Met both of them through their husbands --Patsy's husband and mine were business associates; I worked for Connie's husband before I met her, and before she was married to him. Their first date was a double date with me and my boyfriend, later my husband [Connie's husband and mine grew up together].

3. What is your favorite type of sausage?
Jimmy Dean country style - sage.

4. Do you know anyone that smokes a Pipe?
Yep.

A friend named Ron. Our birthdays are 20 days apart.

He and I go back to 1971 in VBS or Sunday School. I've been fixin' to call him for a few weeks now.

Yeah, a guy at work who has worked there since 1957. He is a year older than my dad. I haven't seen him with a pipe lately though.

Donut. I like both, but probably would choose something sweet rather than a bagel. Also the onion bagels and everything bagels give me heartburn, or whatever that is.

Well it was minor. On a gas-engine hedge trimmer I took the handles apart and reassembled them. The wiring for the kill switch was all messed up, and most of the screws were missing. This was at work. I have to do similar things like that all the time with various pieces of equipment, sometimes by myself, and sometimes I help the other two guys with bigger stuff.

8. Do you believe in Ghosts and have you ever had an experience with the unexplainable?
I don't think I believe in them. And I have had one unexplained experience, but it had nothing to do with ghosts or related things. I lost a half hour once, about 15 years ago. That was never satisfactorily explained.

Tons of stuff, more purchasing than selling.

Well the last thing that I can remember buying at a flea market was a framed night-time photo of the NYC skyline including the Brooklyn Bridge and the Twin Towers. I got it for 10 bucks. Also at the same flea market I got a white NYPD t-shirt for $2.
Previous to that I got a perfect, mint-condition, (and comfortable) rocker-swivel-recliner, for $35 at a yard sale.

I saw a ghost when I was 15. I was lying in bed one summer night and I looked over at the clock on my nightstand to see what time it was (I had just laid down). When I did, this...guy...walked right through the wall next to my bed. He was dressed in late-1800s to early-1900s clothing (something a rancher or prospector might wear--long overcoat, flat-brimmed hat, baggy work pants) and glowed with a soft-white bio-luminescence. He had a beard and and looked to be anywhere from 50 to 60 years old. I immediately snapped my head forward and clamped my eyes shut. A couple of seconds later I slowly opened my eyes and watched him walk past the foot of my bed and exit the house by walking through the outer wall of my bedroom.

I slept with the lights on for four months after that. It was no dream, hallucination, or fantasy. It was as real as the bed that I was lying in at the time.

I bought a desktop thingamajig -- the sand flows through liquid and creates a unique pattern each time you flip it over.
