View Full Version : A Few Predictions

Here's are some predictions my hubby made.
The old media has carried democrat water over the war in Iraq for years. It has been gloom and doom 24/7 with all good news missing or buried.
As a result, and with the help of inept republicans, the Dems won....OK, what now?
Some realities...a narrow democrat congress will not vote to cut off funding and has no real power or program to set strategy. All they can do is talk, which they always could do, and hold hearings, which generally accomplish little.
Even that will be months away. They do not even take power till January. For the next 6 months or so, nothing will change as a result of the election.
So, how will the gloom and doom, all is lost, woe's me media cover the next six months...the period before any real effect from the win could be felt? Remember, it was all Bush's fault. Bush made it rain on the picknic and 'created terrorists out of poor harmless muslims'.
I think magic will occur...the end of the world reporting will stop. Good news will begin to appear. Successes wil be covered and failures and setbacks will be buried. In six months the coverage will go from all is lost to a hopefull new beginning, even though not a single thing has changed on the ground as a result of the election.
They have to spin a no change situation into such a promising result or otherwise no vast improvement as a result of the dems in power will be seen. Why, they may even find WMD.
Watch the same thing occur in all areas that the old media has been hammering for 6 years. Even though nothing has or will change at all till at least march or april of next year, magic will occur everywhere and the very programs and procedures that 'Bush did' or was labled as responsible for, will become the road to recovery!
The old media has a vested interest in democrat success even if they have to simply rewrite existing programs labeled as failures into success.
I am reminded of the Clinton years..remember when we were debating the balanced budget? Clinton fought that idea tooth and nail. He had a long paper trail of speeches and actions fighting the thing and was forced to sign by overwhelming public opinion. He grouched that it would take 12 years to have any effect at all if then...well, 3 years later, when the deficit was about gone, he proudly, and with the help of the old media, claimed it was all his idea.
To this day folks think Clinton balanced the budget!
I expect to see a lot of new credit claiming acommin' in the next few months.
Watch and be amazed.
Conservatives need to be on allert for this as credit claimed is often credit received, even if not earned.
Also, do you think that dems will actually try to be on good "bi-partisan" behavior? Not because they believe in that, you understand. But it would come handy when they want to pass one of their wacky, un-American laws and 'pubs say No Way! Then, can safely say that it's 'pubs who do not want "bi-partisanship." Furthermore, they will look like the good guys, and the sheeple will vote for them in 08.
Your thoughts?

The day the Con-gross meets in Jan you will stop receiving your daily body count from Iraq...at least from the DBM.

Demunists aim to be the end of the country. Once they pass their immigration reform, Bush will sign it immediately. This is the end of the US. I was listening to the Al Rantel show this morning and he says so too. The US will no longer exist, it will be swallowed up in a tidal wave of humanity from south and central America.

Sorry for the long post but I couldnt find a stopping place... Read on if you have the stamina to do so...
Hubby is correct - The Dems will do nothing... They dont really care about the war - Never did, actually... What they care about is power - its the stuff that drives the Democrat motivation to live... Now that they have power, there are no ideological changes that will happen...
As Hubby rightly points out, they are actually powerless to effect any change - They certainly dont have a workable plan to improve the war situation - They havent had a plan for 6 years... All they havre is obstructions, and now that they have control, they cant blame it on Bush...
So what will the next 2 years be dedicated to? Posturing for the '08 election... We will see this posturing in the form of endless and expensive "bi-partisan" oversight investigations of Bush and most especially, Cheney... They hate Cheney with a rage and bitterness the likes that even Satan himself has not seem in ages...
There will be no Impeachment of Bush because there is nothing to Impeach him over - Impeachment is a criminal indictment for a felony, and although they hate Bush and his policies, he has committed no crime... But we can expect to see an all-out attack on Cheney - His demise is what they live for... They would rather hang Cheney than Saddam and feel justified in the trade... This is a matter that we should all dedicate some serious prayer time to...
As for this new call for civility and Bi-partisanship, we all know what the Democrat definition of Bi-Partisanship is... It means the President must now bend to the will of the Democrats... But on that note, Mr Bush can have a final victory if his priorities are in the right place... If he stands his ground and continues to be the same immoveable object that he has been thus far on issues he wants, the Dems will be completely outflanked...
Pelosi wants desperately for this new Dem Congress to appear to be productive - that means that meaningful legistlation must be passed... If they go to war with Mr Bush, and try to force Leftist legistlation thru, they will just vindicate all that we Conservatives have been saying about them as Marxist activists... The only major policy change they can make in regards to Iraq is to cut off funding - Well they could increase funding, but that's not likely...
The only path they can take in order to look like a successful Congress is to pass legistlation that Bush will sign... Remember, this 2 year period is like a test period... They had to make themselves appear to be Conservative in order to win - Now they must maintain that image for the next two years... If they take off their sheep's clothing too quickly, even the most shallow undecided voter will see their masquerade and they will lose in '08...
So bottom line: All Bush has to do is hold a tactful but hard line against any Liberal legistlation... Then the ball remains in the Dems' court and they will in effect be playing defense for the entire two years...
The only way that Bush can blow this is to become Bill Clinton Mk II and start being obsessed with his "legacy"... When he falls in the "Its all about ME" trap, not only does he lose, we all lose...
Bush has been a stone wall on legistlation and policies HE wanted for the last 6 years, but that has also been with a Republican Congress at his back... Now we'll see if he has true wisdom and courage... We're gonna see what he's truly made of...

The day the Con-gross meets in Jan you will stop receiving your daily body count from Iraq...at least from the DBM.I wanna say something about that... Lucid is correct about this, but only in the short term... There is something you are overlooking about the MSM...
They are incredibly arrogant and can only cover for the Dems as long as they have a Conservative target to attack... But now the Dems and the MSM find themselves in an awkward situation... The MSM is a culture made up of cannibals... If they cannot find proper Conservative meat to feed on, they can only contain their hunger for so long before they begin to feed on their own children...
So in the short term there will a Honeymoon and celebration of the brave new world that the Dems are issuing... They will declare that The Age of Aquarius is upon us... But after a month or so, if the Dems dont give the media a Watergate investigation to fill their voracious tummies, the MSM will begin to take bites from the Dems...
The Democrats took a course of action that has won them control of Congress today but is going to cost them dearly in the long run - They won by masquerading as Conservatives... Now they have to walk the walk or risk losing in '08... And when the MSM becomes bored and hungry, and smells a little blood in the water, they will not care who they feed on...
Watch and learn...

I always have time to read your posts, Laz.
Hubby is correct in one observation - The Dems will do nothing...
All they have is obstructions, and now that they have control, they cant blame it on Bush...
Yes, but they'll have to say something now and then. They can't just ignore it entirely. I think Luc and Jim (hubby) have it right: the body count will suddenly stop. Also suddenly, it will be "Uhhhh, look! There's democracy in Iraq. Whou'da thunk." And it will be because dems won the elections and "brought the troops back home." Blaming it on Bush will become old at a certain point. AND it will force them to "do something" to which dems are allergic (unless the "do something" means increasing taxes).
Well, no one takes second place in hatred towards Bush/Cheney than Michael Savage, I'd say. :flame: But I hear you.
here will be no Impeachment of Bush because there is nothing to Impeach him over - Impeachment is a criminal indictment for a felony, and although they hate Bush and his policies, he has committed no crime...
As if a "mere technicality" would stop them.
But we can expect to see an all-out attack on Cheney - His demise is what they live for... They would rather hang Cheney than Saddam and feel justified in the trade... This is a matter that we should all dedicate some serious prayer time to...
Amen.

Brilliant, Laz. Those two paragraphs are right on the mark.

Absolutely. May the Lord help and guide him.
