This is the biggest rivalry in college football. Of course, there are many other great ones, but when I was a grade school kid living in AZ in the 1970s, this was THE rivalry--and that was pre-Internet, ESPN, satellite, cable, etc. It still is.

Coaches be damned if they lose the Michigan game. Coaches be damned to hell! lol

At OSU, you get fired if you lose to Michigan too much. John Cooper was the previous coach who could only muster 2 wins and 1 tie against the Wolverines. He is also the coach who was burned in effigy a lot. He also had crosses burned on his lawn and received a lot of death threats for his stupid and conservative play calling. You never saw John Cooper go anywhere in Columbus without a bodyguard. lol

You can do anything you want at Ohio State, but if you don't beat Michigan, you can forget it!

i am a hawks fan, so i have to hate OSU. this is due to the season a few years ago when the hawks should have won the big ten title outright but never played the buckeyes. the buckeyes would have lost to the hawks and then USC could have won the title while the hawks would have beat anyone else left to match up with

all that being said, michigan has beat some bad teams by fairly close scores the last few weeks. This is an easy buckeyes win as long as they dont have more turnovers the michigan

Michigan all the way baby! Ohio State is way over-rated and they're going to get their heads handed to them!!!

That's what I wish anyway, having been a Michigander all my life. Ohio State is at home and have obviously a very good team, so it will be tough. I hope its a good game that goes down to the wire, with a Michigan upset of course. Right now I'm stuck in mid-Ohio amongst the enemy, so I'm hoping to see them wallowing in their beers Saturday night. I'm going to my Uncle's place in Columbus to watch the game. It will be a hoot if Michigan pulls it off.

So sad to hear about Bo. He meant a lot to this rivalry and is partly responsible for how great it is today. Now that he's gone, another part of the Woody Hayes legacy is gone, too. Bo wasn't just a great coach, but a great man who did so much for others and positively affected the lives of his men and everyone he associated with. He was a true college football icon and larger than life character who will be greatly missed.

RIP.

:moo: So, what's the series record for Michigan-Ohio State? I'm guessing that Michigan is ahead.

Yep. The yappy, rabid Michigan fans who get on the sports radio shows always claim that the Ohio State game means nothing to them, that it's just another game...as if it's getting to be a bore to keep playing the Buckeyes. Pretentious windbags if you ask me.

The odds favor Ohio State by 6.5 to 7. Although I have some ties to Michigan (e.g., my grandmother was born there), I think Ohio State will win. Remember that this a team that went into Austin and thumped Texas, then defending "National Champion," earlier this year.

Now was that completely necessary??!! :nono:

Good game, albeit the wrong team won.

I wouldn't want to play on Ohio State next year though. 19 graduating seniors. And next year it's in the Big House. Whoopin' time.

Yep...for the yappy and pretentious Michigan fans. I don't think all Michigan fans are yappy and pretentious. Huge difference.

Buckeyes turn the ball over 3 times to the #2 team and still win. Twice deep in OSU territory.

Will OSU have to play Michigan again for the National Title?
