The Philadelphia-based company, Urban Outfitters, is selling a plastic gun Christmas tree ornament this year for $6.

Nothing says Christmas quite like a glittery black handgun hanging from the tree.
Urban Outfitters Inc. - no stranger to controversial products - is offering the 5-inch-long, Chinese-made gun ornament for $6 in its stores and catalogs this year.
"Bust a cap in your tree with this superglittery ornament in the shape of a handgun, complete with a satin ribbon for hanging," the online description of the revolver says. It is meant, the retailer says, as an "ironic twist" on the holidays.
"Twisted" is more like it, said Kate Philips, Gov. Rendell's spokeswoman. "The governor doesn't find it humorous or clever to display weapons that are responsible for taking hundreds of lives each year as if they are decorations," she said.

Give me a break! It's an ornament for crying out loud. Besides, I could swear I've seen car ornaments before, and cars take way more lives each year than guns do. Where's the outrage about car ornaments on Christmas trees?

A gun is a tool, nothing more or less.

Rendell is a neuronically-challenged libeRAT. Biological truism: one can expect nothing other than horse shit from a horse's ass.

What I would like to know is what the hell a liberal cares what I have hanging on MY Christmas tree? I mean, I thought liberals didn't like Christmas trees, or anything having to do with Christmas? They don't have a tree in their house, they don't have to worry about the ornament in THEIR house... So how about it Liberals? How 'bout you keep your ass out of MY house, and let me decorate MY tree the way I want?

Better ask the anal-retentive at the HOA office if it's okay. That is, if you live in one of those camps.

I have never, nor do I now, nor will I EVER live in an HOA run community. I'll be damned if I live somewhere that some brain dead yuppie can tell me what I can or can not have or do on MY property.

If the only places left to live on the planet were all HOA communities, I'd live in a tent in the woods somewhere.

Anyone that would willingly buy into an HOA area is crazy.

Personally, I could not care less what someone hangs on their Christmas Tree. Although, I have to say that this strikes me as tacky at the very least.

I agree that it looks tacky. And I would not hang it on my tree. But I'll be damn if I let someone else tell me I can't. And what I find tacky, some one else may think it looks good.

Considering the ITEM that's displayed, I don't find it "offensive" like some may. But ask BuckeyeMike, in our family, fire arms are a common Christmas gift. And I've heard more than once about how "guns" are no way to celebrate the birth of Jesus. But personally, I find noting wrong wit the gift.

Others might. And thats fine for them. They can save the giving of guns for birthdays, anniversaries, etc. Our family isn't that hung up about it. And if you want a gun hanging off your tree, have at it. I wouldn't hang it on mine, but not because of what it IS, simply because I don't think it looks all that good.

The gun ornament doesn't bother me one way or the other.......if that's what someone wants to hang on their tree.....have at it.....me?.....I kinda go for the "ammo" ornaments......the way they dangle, sway and twist at the slightest movement of air....and the way they sparkle and reflect the many colored lights.......breathtaking! Thirty aught six all the way up to 50 cal and 20 millimeter.........a sight to behold! And those metal clip ammo belts are a thing of beauty when used in lieu of tinsel and popcorn strings too.....
Aaaaah Christmas!
