A RASH of pop prophets tell us that Muslims in Europe are reproducing so fast and European societies are so weak and listless that, before you know it, the continent will become "Eurabia," with all those topless gals on the Riviera wearing veils.
Well, maybe not.
The notion that continental Europeans, who are world-champion haters, will let the impoverished Muslim immigrants they confine to ghettos take over their societies and extend the caliphate from the Amalfi Coast to Amsterdam has it exactly wrong.
The endangered species isn't the "peace loving" European lolling in his or her welfare state, but the continent's Muslims immigrants - and their multi-generation descendents - who were foolish enough to imagine that Europeans would share their toys.
In fact, Muslims are hardly welcome to pick up the trash on Europe's playgrounds.
Don't let Europe's current round of playing pacifist dress-up fool you: This is the continent that perfected genocide and ethnic cleansing, the happy-go-lucky slice of humanity that brought us such recent hits as the Holocaust and Srebrenica.
THE historical patterns are clear: When Europeans feel sufficiently threatened - even when the threat's concocted nonsense - they don't just react, they over-react with stunning ferocity. One of their more-humane (and frequently employed) techniques has been ethnic cleansing.

Far from enjoying the prospect of taking over Europe by having babies, Europe's Muslims are living on borrowed time. When a third of French voters have demonstrated their willingness to vote for Jean-Marie Le Pen's National Front - a party that makes the Ku Klux Klan seem like Human Rights Watch - all predictions of Europe going gently into that good night are surreal.
Wuff...didn't think there was anyone left in France who cared...this could be good news.
I have no difficulty imagining a scenario in which U.S. Navy ships are at anchor and U.S. Marines have gone ashore at Brest, Bremerhaven or Bari to guarantee the safe evacuation of Europe's Muslims. After all, we were the only ones to do anything about the slaughter of Muslims in the Balkans. And even though we botched it, our effort in Iraq was meant to give the Middle East's Muslims a last chance to escape their self-inflicted misery. This time, I hope we just sit on the sidelines...life will get a LOT simpler if we do.

All the copy-cat predictions of a Muslim takeover of Europe not only ignore history and Europe's ineradicable viciousness, but do a serious disservice by exacerbating fear and hatred. And when it comes to hatred, trust me: The Europeans don't need our help.
I don't see a disservice, especially a 'serious' one by the Eurabia concept. Who's overdramatizing now, Ralph?
No doubt Europe has had its fair share of ethnic snottery, and even moreso with endless pogroms of the Jews after the diaspora, but today's Europe is different, infected with a newfound socialism that always softens nationalism into gooey submission. If you don't have to work hard for anything, why prop up Western Heritage?
Ralph Peters sounds like he's trying too hard for his rebuttal piece aka book promotion. Whenever there's a trend in ideas, counter it. Sound immediately profound. The holocaust seems to be the only backing his point has in terms of systematic ethnic cleansing.
Europe, especially France and Germany, culturally are DNA purists. That's a given. But they have become very much correct politically after WW2.
As to his last objection, I also disagree. Hatred and fear can be wonderful extracting elements in keeping the culture undiluted. Hatred is morally neutral. The real question is how the hate manifests itself and how it is directed. Hatred is merely extracurricular motivation.
The jobless and hopeless kids in the suburbs may burn a couple of cars, but we'll always have Paris.
A 'couple' cars? heh
Nice try Ralph.
Oh yeah, and the correct term isn't 'hopeless kids' as much as the AFP is directing your correct speech reporting. They have a name. They're muslims.

today's Europe is different, infected with a newfound socialism that always softens nationalism into gooey submission. If you don't have to work hard for anything, why prop up Western Heritage? Europe (Germany) has been exactly that way since Bismarck invented socialism in the 18somethings. I agree with Ralphie. One thing he didn't say, that he shoulda said, is that Germans, like scorpions, will always be Germans. They just pretend to be over their nationalism. They ain't. Just like the Russians ain't over their Sovietism or the Hutus their machetism. Onliest ones who really are different from way back when is the Japs, but where the others who haven't changed a bit claim to have changed a lot, the Japs who have changed a lot haven't claimed to. But of course, even the Japs have nativists among theirselfs; once you've tasted the blood spouting from the neck of a severed head, you're a changed man.

Joe, many thanks for that article from the Brussels Journal. It has taken me 3 weeks to reply, apologies. I am so afraid that the article is so very true, in the UK we are so full of political correctnes bullshit that even the Muslims cannot believe their luck, we have a tradition every November 5th called bonfire night which is to celebrate the capture of a guy called Guy Fawkes who was caught in the 1600's trying to blow up the houses of parliament, people have bonfire and fireworks and burg an effigy of Guy Fawkes on the fire, there are many municipal bonfires and f/works displays, this year many were reported as having a dragon theme or monsters, excuses given were to make the event more multi-cultural, I read on Sunday of a school converting to halal food even though only 5% of the pupils were muslim, reason given "it is easier to serve all the pupils the same kind of food" I could quote many more ridiculous incidents. Basically these guys do not even have to make a protest, some official pre-empts them.
There is a backlash starting though, a senior minister being interviewed let it slip that he asked female muslim constistuents to remove the face veil when in his office, a couple of teachers have been sacked/suspended for refusing to reveal their faces in class.
I live close to an area with many Pakistani and Bangladesh immigrants, many now 3rd generation, local papers carry letters from people who remember them arriving in the 50's and 60's with the men wearing western clothes, the women bright colored dresses, it is only as they have organised themselves into tight communities with their own mosques (nothing against that) and schools that this going back has occured, yet the strange part is that the younger men behave as outragiously as the rest of the population age group, noisy cars, fast driving, loud music and chasing girls (white and afro carribean, not their own) on the school situation they demand and get full funding yet English is a voluntary subject and only muslim children are allowed in the school. We or rather our athourities are just rolling over in case they are acused or racism. It is very depressing seeing your country going to hell.
My elder son, Adrian, is currently in Iraq, with the RAF in Basra, he won't tell me half of what goes on but basically says that the Sunni's and the Shiite's are basically knocking the hell out of each other with the insurgents stirring up as much trouble for US and UK troops. UK public opinion is 90% bring our guys home.
I am back on the US circuit and expect to email you some time to arrange a long overdue chat and dinner.
I hope you are keeping well and are winterised.

Hi Joe,
thanks for sharing this Email with me. Living in the UK for a year now I have seen these problems here myself. At the end of September I heard that in Nottingham the first UK graveyard is planning to have all its burial plots facing Mecca, even Christians. It's the local officials making those decisions however just a very low percentage of Nottingham is actually Muslim. Appearently the various church officials have been consulted before the decision was made, however it's ridiculous. Someone does not have to specify which way he wants to face. Christians should be buried facing east by default and Muslims can be buried northeast.
A couple of weeks later we hear about the teacher who gets suspended from school for wearing a veil. The headmasters decision made perfectly sense to me. She did not wear a veil at the interview and she claimed she didn't because she did not know a man would be present. Does she think people are that stupid? So how many men saw her on the way to the interview and how many male teachers saw her walking up to the office of the headmaster? Now she is appealing the decision.
Then we have a British Airways Employee who is christian and is not allowed to wear their tiny neckless with a cross on show while wearing a uniform however BA would allow someone to wear much more intruding religious wear.
I have the feeling that it's a sad world we live in and it's getting more frustrating as the days go by and the news reach us. Maybe one day it will all change to the better, but I cannot see that comming too soon.
Kind regards,
Kate

Another from Ian
An interesting piece, alas it is too true, on the debt situation I would say 40/50% of my generation are, like me, completely debt free but the other 50/60% are still re-mortgaging etc in their 50’s and 60’s. I have friends my age whose spending patterns are based on their credit card limits and consequently pay around 30% interest p.a. and accept that as normal. These are people who have good jobs yet are unable to resist the temptation to spend more than they earn. Savings are not encouraged by a Government tax regime taht removes 40% of interest paid. As for the drugs scene, in Peebles (a small country market town pop 8,000 lots of retired people, where the plant is situated and where I live during the week) is I am told is a hotbed of drugs with literally anything being available on a Saturday night. To look at Peebles High Street and the population of the day you would not believe the drug stories, yet a number of our (former) workers now reside in jail for drug related offences.
Fool Britannia - a society in denial
Britain has traditionally been populated by people who see themselves as slightly superior to the rest of the world. The hangover from times when Britannia ruled the waves, as well as a number of other countries, has taken a long time to shake off and an international snobbery is still prevalent amongst much of the population. Pride, we are told, comes before a fall and the British remain so proud that we are oblivious to the decline of our society that is already well underway. Either that or we are in denial.
Top of the pile is where Britons have always claimed to belong and that is exactly where we are now. But unfortunately, we are topping all the wrong piles. This week a report reveals that Britons consume more cocaine than people in almost every other European country. The findings of the European Monitoring Centre on Drugs and Drug Addiction’s study, highlight that cocaine use among 16-to-24-year-olds has more than doubled in the last seven years. In 2005, there were 171 cocaine-related deaths in Britain – up from 147 in 2004. It is also estimated that Brits part with up to £57 million each week to fund cocaine habits.
Looming epidemic
It makes pretty grim reading and it doesn’t get any better. Drug charities have voiced fears that cocaine users will progress to crack cocaine and Britain is supposedly faced with a looming epidemic of crystal meth use, which is the drug that has been the scourge of the US. Four years ago, an undercover journalist found traces of cocaine in the House of Commons press gallery, The Ritz, The Savoy and the Royal Opera House. But cocaine is no longer reserved for the rich and famous.
It doesn’t need Sherlock Holmes, or in fact a European study, to tell us that cocaine is everywhere in Britain. It’s in pubs, clubs, offices, building sites and even schools and the police have outlined an intention to crack down on middle-class cocaine users who see no harm in dabbling at weekends. It’s hard to see what difference it will make if a few Friday night dinner parties are interrupted by unwanted guests from the police just as the After Eights are doing the rounds. It is not a policy that will strike at the heart of the problem. Cocaine abuse in Britain is spiralling out of control and a UN report earlier this year named and shamed London as the cocaine capital of the world. Crack cocaine use is also on the up, as is the number of people who smoke cannabis. The only positive of this week’s report is that ecstasy use has dropped in the last seven years.
Jean-Luc Lemahieu, chief of the Europe and West/Central Asia section of the United Nations office on drugs and crime, warns that the “picture does not look too bright” for drugs in the UK. Speaking at a police conference in Manchester this week, Lemahieu said: “The emerging drug is cocaine. And if the cocaine market declines elsewhere more of the production needs to be re-directed and Europe seems to be a prime target. A new breed of drug user has emerged who does not see it [cocaine] as unsafe having grown up in the 1990s during the ecstasy drug boom.”
Hall of shame
It doesn’t bode well for the future, but drug abuse isn’t the only hall of shame that Britain finds itself at the top of. The teenage pregnancy rate in the UK is the highest in Western Europe, even though pregnancy rates among under-18s are currently at their lowest for 20 years in England. In October, the Health Profile of England report showed that 23% of adults were obese, giving the UK the highest rate in Europe. In September, a study found that Britons are responsible for a third of all unsecured debt in Europe and Britons are also leading the way in Europe in the online gambling stakes, with one in three European players coming from Britain. It’s a sorry state of affairs and binge-drinking hasn’t even had a mention yet – something that everyone knows Britain does better than anyone else.
What is to blame for this fall from grace? The weather perhaps, after all, with a climate like Britain’s what else is there to do other than sit about running up huge debts from cocaine-influenced gambling in online casinos? With big debts to pay off a gym membership is out of the question, especially with the price of junk food and cigarettes these days. It may seem like an exaggeration of the society we live in today, but it might not be too far from the truth in a few years as the future really doesn’t look too bright. Not only are there high teenage pregnancy rates, but more youngsters than ever are suffering from mental health issues. Parents are reportedly bullying GPs into prescribing anti-depressants for their children, giving birth to what has been dubbed the ‘Prozac generation’. When you add the infamous “hoodie” culture that is sweeping through society into the mix, things start to look even more alarming.
In 1997, when Blair came to power, education was his number one priority. He vowed to get tough on crime and the causes of crime and said his government would help build strong families and strong communities. As Labour’s longest-serving Prime Minister he has certainly had the time to make good on those promises. You could argue all day about which aspects of Britain have improved in the last 10 years and which have got worse, and that is exactly what we have politicians for. But, as Blair prepares to bid farewell, unless something dramatic happens in the first half of 2007, it is hard to see how anyone can claim he leaves Britain in a better overall state than he found it.

The Muslims maintain that England is the first European country that they will take over. I find it amazing that there is so little reaction to our 911, The Spanish Train bombing and the bombings in England. My comment to both was either their people had better get their act together, or put their faces in the dirt and their asses in the air or lose their heads!

Ignored in all this is the fact that the European population is rapidly aging because of the very low birth rate among the European population. For example, the birth rate in Russia is so low that Russia could easily be an empty land mass - a vacuum - by mid-Century. Who will fill that vacuum? The Muslims, of course. The details can be found in the book, America Alone: The End of the World As We Know It, by Mark Steyn. Mr. Steyn summarizes his findings in an article entitled, "Births 'n' Dearths" in the October 23, 2006, issue of National Review.
It's well known that a birth rate of 2.1 live births per woman is required to sustain the population of a nation, which is the birth rate in the U.S. However, the birth rates in Europe as a whole is 1.38, Japan 1.32, Russia 1.14, and Canada 1.48.

I like the Fox man more'n anybody, but I have to disagree on a few things.
today's Europe is different, infected with a newfound socialism that always softens nationalism into gooey submission.
They ain't.
I suspect on a visceral level they aren't. If the death camps were one thing, it is that they were meticulously systematic. The entire world got to see the quirkiness of Germany displayed forever in historical hi-liter pen.
However, and this is crucial, muslim terror states as well as the moderate ones are all universally in concert in their denial that the Holocaust even happened at all. It is one of their tenents to promulgate their Jew hating fix. Turkey, one of the leading nations liberals use in their bullet points that 'moderate' islamic democracies can exist, has had Mein Kampf on its best seller list for over a decade. Even Morocco is filled with 'moderate' muslims who have a fetish for anything anti-Jew as proven by their top casual lit; the Protocols of the Elder of Zion.
Where the Germans left off, the muslims took over.
Just like the Russians ain't over their Sovietism or the Hutus their machetism.
I agree. In fact, our problem lies beyond islam. Tehran is merely the hand puppet of Beijing and the Kremlin. I know, it sounds very 80's to say and isn't fashionable today, but Tom Clancey wasn't on the NYT bestseller list for years for nought. There are far bigger fish to fry than islam. Islam, an ignorant sand religion, is but one front. It is the marionette of forces that lie to the North and East. It is also why there is no real movement to censure Amajadenehad by the Soviets or China. They prefer the focus to remain on the West. They enjoy the shift of attention away from them by using proxies like muslims to hyperventilate about America. It keeps our eye off the ball and they get to do whatever they want, like form oil contracts with Iran. They get 2 things. Cheap oil and 'a friend' who will help them in their competition with us.
Onliest ones who really are different from way back when is the Japs,
A pair of shrooms will tend to cause introspective reflection.
But of course, even the Japs have nativists among theirselfs; once you've tasted the blood spouting from the neck of a severed head, you're a changed man.
Joseph Conrad understood it better than anyone. Man is a savage at heart. Humanism is and has always been a charade. It is also why diplomacy is only a waiting game, putting it off until some other day. Shhh. Don't tell this to liberals. They still want to believe that much talk and discussion will lead to a level of understanding unheard of until their wise gem unfolds inside the brain of the eternal savage. Its merely vainity combined with the uncourageous and undeveloped character of not exerting yourself or believing it is worthwhile to do so. Its caving in, surrendering. No. Churchill understood. He was proven after WW2. Man is a warring creature not because he wants to defend his culture but because in the end, blood is primordial to all of us. Germany wasn't tactical. They weren't really trying to take over the world. No. They really got off on Jew killing en masse. It was... fun. Otherwise, Hitler would have made better moves than he did rather than upping camp timetables and increasing the corpse count which had little to no bearing on the war at all. Germany was in thrall to a national fetish at the time; purity. To them, it made perfect sense. To the rest of us? Well...
But, here's the real problem.
Mark Steyn is either correct or he's not. The birthing stats are either right or they're mistaken. If they're correct, then Europe is up a creek, paddleless. Once the culture decides that civilization is not worth fighting for, and that's what low birth counts reflect on the national radar, its all over. Socialism is uninspiring. It garners no defense to itself. No one wants to fight for it. There's just no pride in it when you get something for nothing. And even though Europe has had it far longer than us, European socialism is getting progressively worse.
The other problem is perhaps even more telling. War fatigue. Europe has been exhausted from defending itself ever since WW1. WW2 only made it more apparent. When there's nothing worth living for, there is certainly nothing worth dying for. And that's the real problem of socialism. When I give my kid a car free and clear and they have not earned it themselves, the odds are more favorable that that car will get mistreated and/or totaled than if the car was actually earned. It won't be appreciated. No one in Europe appreciates its civilization or culture. It is taken for granted. People wake up one day and automatically start making assumptions that it was always this way and always will be.
War is viewed as uncouth, like the taste of Listerine on the tongue of a professional wine taster. They spit it out. It is beneath them. And anyone who engages in war is an unsophisticate. We 'have evolved' into an age of peace. This is what the lie really sounds like from its practitioners. The West is not worth defending. There was no hard effort involved in getting this generation to appreciate it. And schools aren't helping.
But muslims? They are proud of their faith and 'culture'. They are nationals. They are even more than that. They want your nation too. They are in the expanding business. And in many ways I fully agree with them. They realize that France is theirs for the taking like a brand new car. They can appreciate what is not theirs. They are seeing a spoiled general public who despises itself and they cannot believe it! There's a brand new red shiny car. The keys are right there in the ignition! And the driver would rather walk than drive it. The muslims are right in getting in the car. I don't hold it against them. I hold it against the French for not promoting its culture, for turning its churches into museums or 12 step AA centers. I blame Europe for becoming a victim, for thinking it lowbrow to actually believe in God.
Heck, at this point, I probably have more in common with the muslim than I do the American left. And I'm a staunch Christian fundamentalist with a libertarian political bent. In that sense, I admire the muslim for their devoutness, for their muscular faith. Compared to the American electorate, they look robust, rugged and ready for the next Century. The Left is promoting handout socialsim. There is no faith in that, no belief in that, no passion in that. That is weakness.
No. I have more in common with the muslim than I do the American lefty. In fact, I'm becoming less and less afraid of them and more repulsed by what I hear in my own media that promotes anti-Americanism and tries to shame us at every turn.
Don't get me wrong. Islam sucks ass. But, the effete Europeans and the American left repulse me far worse because they are the reason why the world is going to hell. Islam at least believes in something as gay as it is. Socialism by contrast promotes a vaccuum. It is nihilism with a friendly Mr. Rogers tone.
War fatigue. Europe got sick after WW1 and never fully recovered. Our American left got sick after Vietnam and have been using that print ever since. America also suffers from war fatigue. And the anti-war crowd suffers from it because they don't believe the West is worth fighting for, in fact they believe in just the opposite. That we should just give it all away because we're evil indian killin, corporate white, gas guzzlin morons. This is also the European print/action line of us. They, too, want to promote the gimmick because they feel the same way. The West is to be taken for granted. It has no value and serves no purpose. Islam looks on us and laughs, then moves to take ground using our own compassion, free society and immigration laws against us.
Will Germany become a savage again to tip the scales? Not until its too late. The world, the West in particular, has become socially and politically correct so far in one direction that I'm afraid they have cut off their balls in order to silence their critics by proving to them how perfectly palmolive they've become. I'm not gonna put my stock in a resurgence in Zyk B anytime soon.
Maybe Ralph Peters has a point. I just think Mark Steyn makes more sense, especially when Ralph Peters robs his own credibility by saying at the end of his article that a 'couple burned cars' by 'hopeless kids' isn't really a big concern. Well, the first thing we should do is try on the reality of over 40,000 burned cars (http://littlegreenfootballs.com/weblog/?entry=23047&only) since last year (http://littlegreenfootballs.com/weblog/?entry=18237&only) and not use the liberal buzz word of hopeless youths as our working apologetic. Call them what they are, pissed off muslim scum. Muslim scum that are sucking off the French welfare state while pulling off 42 systematic attacks on police (http://littlegreenfootballs.com/weblog/?entry=23185&only) each month and now burning busses (http://littlegreenfootballs.com/weblog/?entry=23131&only) and whatever collateral civs who happen to be riding in them also. Or swaying an entire election in Spain, dubbed as Bomb The Vote (http://littlegreenfootballs.com/weblog/?entry=10157&only). Europe has serious appeasement problems. I don't think waiting for the next Holocaust to correct the problem is the most thoughtful, advisable or realistic outlook to such a problem. France is not hitting back. Spain wants peace and probably a return to the Spanish Moors. And last week it became obvious to all that Christian Lebanon is being taken over by Hezbollah and no one moves. And we don't need to do the muslim global laundry list here. We're talking about greater Europe.
To be sure, Europe is more racist than America. However, I think their sensitivities have been so acutely trained since the end of WW2 that they are literally hamstrung by their past.

The Muzzies have learned that conquest from within is far easier than from without. They know that in a military confrontation, they lose. Thus they infiltrate their target countries and pretend to assimilate into their cultures. It's all show biz. Islam's one unwavering goal is world domination, with it being the only religion and Sharia being the only law.
The Muzzies next door might be the nicest, most congenial, most productive folks on the block, but if they are true Muslims, their commandment is to further the cause of Islam in the Dar al-Harb and to bring more infidels into their demonic religion. And they will do it by whatever means are necessary, including deceiving the infidels. Lying to unbelievers is permissible in Islam.
Trust but verify.

I just want to express my bitter disappointment regarding Wyatt Junker's post #8.
Why isn't this man touted as a leading contender for a full professorship in Reality Thinking or Religious Studies, or as an All-Cabinet-Star for the Bush administration, or any other administration, for that matter? He could easily fill the shoes of someone in Homeland Security. Nah, that's too easy. How hard would it be for him to stuff his pedal digits in a pair of Birkenstocks?
Defense? Poofery. Put him any department outside of Defense, Justice, State or Treasury, and it would disappear. Righteously. Even if he were appointed to any of the Sacred Four, I could see heads rolling like a Special Ed Bowling Tournament without the inflated gutter-bumpers that enable all participants to feel good about themselves when that Brunwick ball knocks down that one pin on the corner of the plastic triangle.
When the Rock-and-Roll Hall of Fame first opened, some wag said that Elvis Presley and the Beatles should be inducted on the first ballot, then shut down. I would submit Junker as Poster-for-Life, be done with it, and the rest of us are mere poofery. Hangers-on. Groupies waiting for a chance to get a square inch of pillow upon which that hallowed head rests.
