Why can't the politicians keep their stupid fat noses out of the military's business? They are determined to screw this up as they did Vietnam.

Headed by former Secretary of State James Baker and former Rep. Lee Hamilton, the Iraq Study Group issued its highly anticipated report (http://www.usip.org/isg/iraq_study_group_report/report/1206/index.html) yesterday,
SNIP
Already, terrorists are rejoicing (http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=53269) at the report, calling the new plan a victory for “Islamic resistance.” Hamas asset Abu Abdullah exclaimed,<!--StartFragment --> “The big superpower of the world is defeated by a small group of mujahedeen. Did you see the mujahedeens' clothes and weapons in comparison with the huge individual military arsenal and supply that was carrying every American soldier?” In this, he sounds very much like Osama bin Laden's assessment of Vietnam, Beirut, and Mogadishu.
SNIP
Pro-American Iraqi politicians, working to establish a non-sectarian democracy in the midst of the Muslim world, expressed their dismay (http://www.breitbart.com/news/2006/12/06/061206183540.4da9y9bi.html) at the plan. Kurdish parliamentarian<!--StartFragment --> Mahmud Othman responded with outrage: “They have no right to do this. This is unfair.” A leading advisor to Prime Minister al-Maliki said the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:country-region><st1:place>U.S.</st1:place></st1:country-region> has an obligation to support <st1:country-region><st1:place>Iraq</st1:place></st1:country-region> “all the way,” adding, “We need their support to go forward.”

Here's another one for the Iraq Surrender Group cabal:

The terrorists had some kind words for the report.
Abu Abdullah said following a withdrawal from Iraq, the U.S. will be defeated on its own soil. "America must understand that with anti-American governments in Latin America and with Islam growing and reinforcing, including in the U.S. itself, the next step would be a total defeat on their (American) land, not a relative one like they are facing in Iraq," he said.

Baker is a traitor.
He basically wants to give Iraq back to terrorists.

James Baker wants to give Iraq to the terrorists and the USA too. The same way he gave the Lebanese Christians to hezbollah.

Bring it on, you goat-raping medieval barbarians, and discover what hell is like.
And while we're at it, it's past time to deal harshly and definitively with the appeasers and surrenderists in Washington.

I don't know that they are expecting an American insurgency. They probably think our government is so p-whipped that it would never permit Americans fighting back.

Jim Beam's report is like a bad SNL skit.
1) Let the palestinians swarm Israel with a 'right of return'.
2) Suck up to Syria & Iran. Reach out to them for a 'consensus' in Iraq.
3) Plead with the rest of the Middle East for peace.
4) Apologize to the world by saying how awful America is.
Gotta love the 'realists'. I know the democrats do.

Speaking of fools, here's s'more shit from the Arab community, courtesy the ISG...
“This report is a recognition of the limitation of American power,” said Abdel Moneim Said, head of Al-Ahram Center for Political and Strategic studies in Cairo. “In the short term, America will highly suffer the loss of its reputation and credibility in the region.” ...
Mustafa Bakri, an outspoken critic of the U.S. and editor of the Egyptian tabloid Al-Osboa, told a state-run television show that the report indicated “the end of America.”
Bakri, who supports Syrian President Bashar Assad and the former regime of Saddam Hussein, urged Arab countries to “capture the moment as America now is in its weakest period.”
The Iraq Study Group’s report was the top headline in many Arab newspapers on Thursday, including the Egyptian opposition daily Al-Wafd, which declared: “Bush confesses defeat in Iraq.” The paper’s editor-in-chief, Anwar el-Hawari, predicted that at the very least, the Middle East will not hear from Bush for the coming 24 months.
“Practically, this means that this is the real end of Bush rule, his policies and the neo-conservative groups. This also means that the coming two years left in his term will be a period of a political vacuum,” he wrote.

Iraq Study Group. The very name is mortifyingly stupid. As is the idea that the terrorist problem will be solved by "talking" to the bastards.
It's bad enough that we have to put up with stupid people. It's even worse that we have to put up with being governed by them, as well.

Since every informed person knows that "stay the course" is defined as doing everything possible to win the War on Terror, when the Iraq Surrender Group stated, "We do not recommend a stay-the-course solution" they are stating that they oppose winning the War on Terror.

Blast that James Baker anyway. I just heard a soundbite on FOX News where he responded to GWB's comment (that he would consider SOME of the ideas they came up with) "I hope these recommendations aren't treated like a fruit salad, where you take a little here and a little there. It's meant to be a cohesive plan". Yea right you know nothing holier than thou bastard. Get 70# of gear on your a*s and march through Fallujah and then tell us what you think might work.

And if the Dummycrats win the White House and take away the right to bear arms, it will be easily accomplished.

Does anyone know what this contemptible liberal travesty cost the US taxpayers? One thing is certain: every penny of it was utterly wasted.
When it comes out in paperback, here's a suggested cover image.

Baker and company did a such a wonderful job with Iraq the first time, didn't they? It's precisely because of the 1st Bush Admins lack of spine that we even had to send troops over there again. :flame:

Easy their TSawyer. My then battallion commander and I were in agreement as to why we didn't finish the job and that was the U.N. not allowing us to do so. As they put it, "you were sent here to liberate Kuwait and nothing else." I don't fault Bush Sr. for it.

The "U.N. not allowing us to do so" is precisely the kind of thing I am talking about. Bush and Baker just had to have that precious U.N.-sanctified coalition. And now we're allowing the same type folks to influence policy once again.
Thank you for your service. My frustration should not be mistaken as any kind frustration with the folks on the ground at that time.

It's a friggin disaster. Baker's pro-Suni, pro Saudi Arabia disaster. The hell with Israel, the hell with the Lebonese, the hell with the Kurds, the hell with the Shia who, of course, are not going to go along with this garbage, but will simply line up with Iran, the hell with those Sunis who are glad that Saddam is gone and do want the new Iraq to work. Retreat and kiss Syria's and Iran's ass.

I'm forming a study group of Freecers to put together our own recommendations. We will publish the Freecers' Kick Ass Report on Iraq.
In keeping with the way these things are done, we will start out with what we want the report to say, and then work hard studying how to make it look like we didn't do it that way.
We will say, among other things, that liberals and Muzzlie lovers need to eat shit and die. Once that happens, all the remaining study group suggestions won't even need to be read.
Our next recommendation is to convert Iran into a sheet of gas glass. We will then put Iraq's economy on an even keel by renting out skates and charging entrance to Iran for country-wide skating. That country will then have no need of all the oil going to waste under Iran's sands, and we will just take it off their hands for free.
Anybody who doesn't like it, we recommend they eat yogurt and smell their own farts.
End of recommendations.
