Carter Prays With Rabbis Angered by Book
Wednesday, December 13, 2006
By CHRIS KAHN, Associated Press Writer
PHOENIX — Former President Carter prayed with rabbis who are angered by his new book's reference to apartheid in describing the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, but he didn't change their minds.
The Board of Rabbis of Greater Phoenix said they wouldn't call for a boycott of Carter's book, "Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid," but they also won't suggest that anyone read it.
"I don't know if he gets the evil that we are facing," said Rabbi Bonnie Koppell of Scottsdale.
Carter, 82, was met by a crowd of protesters as he appeared at a book store in suburban Tempe to autograph copies of the book.
He said he chose the title to shine light on the festering conflict and give Americans a different point of view than what they're used to.
"I wanted to provoke debate," Carter said. "I wanted to provoke discussion.".....http://www.foxnews.com/wires/2006Dec13/0,4670,CarterBook,00.html

You wanted to provoke hatred of Israel, you lying puke. You're just too much of a coward to say as much out loud.

But I bet the press won't badger him over this like they did with Mel Gibson.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not excusing Mel. I just want to point out the eternal double standard.
Gibson shoots him mouth in a drunken stupor and all hell breaks loose. Carter enrages rabbis, and it's all about "provoking a discussion."
Hey, Jimmy. You can provoke discussions without offending people, you senile old fart.
Man, some people just NEVER die. :sulk:

"Carter, 82 . . ."
Given his age, he probably doesn't even remember a tenth of what he "wrote." Most likely he had a ghostwriter, anyway.

Did I miss something? Everything I hear from the DBM about Israel is negative... Just what different point of view is he talking about? He just took what the DBM is trying to portray and put it in paperback. The Idiot!!! This will most likely become "required reading" on most Kollage Kampi...

Why is it that Republican Presidents seems to quietly go into the night and keep a low profile after office...but Dems seem to hate to leave the limelight?
Worst President in my life and he can't keep his stupid mouth shut...
May his Alzheimers begin affecting his vocal cords.

Bah! May he just snuff it, once and for all. 83. That's far longer than a great deal of good people ever lived. Just comes to prove that evil never perishes.

Why is it that Republican Presidents seems to quietly go into the night and keep a low profile after office...but Dems seem to hate to leave the limelight?...In our recent history, the only two Democrat Presidents we have had 1) were grossly obssessed with their "legacy" - that is to say their own egos... And, 2) were either incredibly incompetent or sullied the dignity of the office of the Presidency with their own adolescent sexual obsessions... In short, neither of these men have the class or dignity to quietly slip into retirement because they are still trying desperately to establish some official and widely recognized honorable legacy... So they are left with trying to tear down the policies of the current president in order to make themselves look less foolish...
We cant say whether or not John Kennedy would have shown more dignity - I suspect he would have because he was from a different time in history when respect was shown between Presidents regardless of party affiliation... We do know that Lyndon Johnson retired with quiet dignity...
This recent aberration on the part of Carter and Clinton is just an indicator of the trend of how decency is all but disappeared from politics... We are rapidly moving toward a political atmosphere where violence against one's political opponents will be commonplace - The kind of environment where armed revolution breeds...

What sexual issues did Carter have? He was a total loser, to be sure, but I don't recall any sexual issues.
EDIT: Nevermind. You said "or". My mistake.

I remember when I first heard about Clinton trying to leave some kind of 'legacy after he left office'. The media was parroting that shit. I thought it was hilarious.
So he went to the M.E. and tried to big bro Israel and Palestine into heavy petting dating exercises. Arafat predictably douched him. I could have told corndog that. It resulted in the latest intifada. Good job Billy Jeff!
Who gives a rip about their 'legacy'? All that means is you are a shallow asshole who works off appearances. No. A legacy effortlessly finds you. You can't force it. You can't manipulate it. You can't rewrite it. It writes itself.
But this guy was still in office and trying to get into the history books. Talk about porn credits. That's like a tacky lime green game show host suit. LAY-GUS-SEE. Its like a fart trapped in your BVDs. The smell is latent. And so it was with Clinton. When he was in office, it was all roses. Dot Com bullshit parade. The cheap diplomacy of morons. By the time he left office, he left the smell that was catching up to Bush. By the time Bush sat down in that oval office chair, it smelled like someone had opened up their colostomy bag. He was smelling Clinton. Undiluted and concentrated. America was knee deep in his legacy. The chicoms were popping off, knocking our planes out of the sky. Space shuttles were falling apart mid-flight. Our military was deballed and our intel razed. The economy was tanking after the dot bomb fairy tale implosion. And then, Clinton's real legacy. 9/11.
That's what happens when you don't lead and only worry about your legacy. The country takes a big shit.

The problem with Jimmah is not that he talks like a fool. The problem is that too many people with a double-digit IQ take him seriously.

Yeah, that's liberals for you. Afraid of bunnies, Baby Jesus, Santa Claus. But they feel positively at home with terrorists and criminals.
Liberalism: a mental disorder.
