Wednesday, January 10, 2007

WASHINGTON — The U.S. trade deficit unexpectedly fell for a third straight month in November as exports of commercial airplanes and other products hit an all-time high and the bill for foreign oil declined to the lowest level in 16 months.

The Commerce Department reported Wednesday that the deficit fell by 1 percent to $58.2 billion in November, the lowest monthly total since July 2005. The deficit hasn't declined for three consecutive months since early 2003.

The November improvement came as a surprise. Analysts had forecast a slight increase from October's deficit of $58.8 billion....http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,242765,00.html

There is an obvious solution to your problem: take your vacation in the U.S. How many of the 50 states have you not visited? Take your vacation in those states. FYI, we have visited 47 states and DC. Even at our advanced age, we still plan to visit the other 3 states: Minnesota, N. Dakota, and Hawaii.

Of course. We can't allow any good news to interfere with the constant flow of negativity by the Liberals and their allies in the press now can we!?

At least part of the reason the trade deficit is falling is because the dollar is losing its value. Imports are becoming more expensive, exports cheaper.

NT's point is valid: vacation somewhere you don't need to exchange currency. Lots of places to see.

Or vacation somewhere the dollar will go far like Bosnia.

NT, unless you've got hundred dollar bills sticking out of both back pockets, I'd advise you to scratch Hawaii off your "to see" list.

The last time I was there, a glass of orange juice at breakfast was $5.00 dollars.

I've never been any place where I felt more "highjacked" than Hawaii.

When we go there it will most likely be on a cruise where meals are included.
