Good, since my part-time job is worth about 3x minimum wage, I'll be raising my rates too!

You gotta love minimum expectations and the politicians who demand them.
There was some a-hole on the evening news praising this min. wage bile. He sounded like Howard Dean, although I can't be certain. His tone had that same pretentious whine of superiority, but it was what he said that was so disturbing.
In regards to min. wage, he said that ITS ABOUT TIME WE HAD SOCIAL JUSTICE and ECONOMIC JUSTICE and (a word I despise) FAIRNESS.
And I am sure the spit was flying off his lips when he said it because he sounded all pentacostal and crap like a hyperactive meth addled doorknob.
And so the shitsmear went on and on like the marxist dickslobberer he was.
A word to the wise... never, never, NEVER trust or associate with anyone who uses phrases like 'social justice' or 'economic justice'. When you hear someone utter that crap, flee.
And then there's my favorite, 'fairness'. This is the most disturbing word in the English vocabulary, but what was funnier than shit on a barn door was that this ass beret actually felt superior using all this God-forbidden diction. It was eerie.
And then he went on to make reference to the Constitution. I diahhrea you not. He did. He really really did.
It was all so amazing and...(another word I hate) ... surreal. But I have to use that word because unfortunately its rather fitting. And anyway, I just had to vent because this is what you get when you vote a crat into office. Their head bloats faster than an Ethiopian's belly at a crab feed.

And then there's my favorite, 'fairness'. This is the most disturbing word in the English vocabulary . . .
Not to hijack things, but I would have to say that my vote goes to the word 'tolerance' as one of the most disturbing words. WHY is it a good thing to "tolerate" bad things? This includes the so-called "minimum" wage (lie).

The RATs are true to form. They kiss up to people who are stupid enough to vote for them, and they lie their asses off, confident that the MSM pawns will cover them.
It's the 82 RINOs that should concern us, not the RATs.

My district rep voted against, but the other one voted for it, so our state split.

Will it raise the price of beer?

It will raise the price of EVERYTHING, simply, because unions and others will determine THEY need more.
And guess who gets screwed? Anyone on a fixed income like SS. Just get further and further behind.

All those things don't matter to libeRATs and RINOs. They feel good about themselves, and no other consideration is relevant.
Q1: if the Pubs had voted 100% against it, who would the DBM accuse of partisanship?
Q2: when the government intrusion into the private sector has its inevitable damaging effect, who will the RATs and their media ass-kissers blame?

I think we all saw this hike coming. It has been the highlight of the first 100 hours of the Great Leap Forward Vietcongress.

I wonder how Pelosi is going to explain the "exemption" given to the Tuna Company based out of San Francisco.

Hmmm, wonder when they are gonna get the picture that raising the minimum wage gives manufacturers and retailers a reason to raise the price on goods. I have heard nothing but banter from the Dimwitted Ones about the devaluing of the dollar and here they are perpetuating the problem. Reason # 4,789,234 that the Dimwitted Ones are hypocrits an liars bent on political domination anyway possible.

Okay, okay. I've been here long enough for most of you to know I would take a swig from your Coke bottle without even wiping it for germs. I KNOW it'll raise the price of beer. I guess I was being too clever with an allusion to Norm in Cheers. Yes, it'll raise the price of beer. Maybe I'll thank the pimply sophomore for performing his sworn duty for the betterment of mankind as he bags my six-pack at the grocery store even though I'm writing bigger and bigger numbers in the check book after they swipe the goods.

The pride of being able to go home and tell your wife, 'Gee honey, guess what? I got a raise!' And then watching as she falls down laughing at your 'big kill at the office' when you finally got good 'ol Uncle Sam to make that pitch for you. Yes, you think, sucking in air between your teeth, you finally got that big shiny fiddy cent piece bump added to your hourly wage. The self-respect nearly knocks you off your feet, you're so proud of the accomplishment! Now you can save for Junior's college.
Yes, yes, yes. It took that fine layer of sub-species known as minimitis wageratus to grow some gills. Finally. Now they can swim with the big boys!
It took those poor, poor down-n-outers 12 long years of suffering through Republican majorities to finally tear down that economic styrofoam wall. Robin Hood democrats, for the little guy, speaking tha truth to power, giving a holla TO THE MAN and lobbing a pair of sheckels at the toothless misfits stuck in the peanut gallery. Meanwhile, Milton Friedman does a couple gainers in his grave. Anne Rand takes a shit and eats it, after having seen Russia die and get reincarnated here in America.
Those poor, poor people can now go to Starbucks and instead of getting just a latte, well now they can get an upgrade! Its all frappucino now bitches. They up'n got 'emselves A RAISE! Its all frap, all the time. They're gonna be stylin. Who knows, they might even get a 24 karat grill.
The pride of having Uncle Sam roll up his sleeves and pat you on the head in his non-condescending way. The democrats are heros. Power Rangers. Might Morphin no doubt. Not quite Batman, but certainly gay enough to be Robin. Capes flying. Yellow booties. And of course, the courtesy mystery bulge.
They swooped down and saved the working class in one single bound! Sure, Burger King might remove its sesame seeds from its buns, but don't worry, you won't notice it. And that wait you had in line to get your Happy Meal? No worries. They'll automate. Shoot the burgers out into your car window using servo technology. Just don't take a crap. The shitter ain't getting scrubbed. They had to fire the retard crew. So, after you eat your swill and wash it down with Mt. Dew, and you have to take the usual fastfood booyah, its best you either hover'n splash or hold it and bound the fuk out the door.
Min wage hikes are expensive, but we can't let our people down with a frown.

I think it was Barney Frank who gave the speech about income inequality and the need to equalize incomes and get rid of income disparity.

PLEASE provide a link! This is DEFINITELY information I can use as a blunt instrument! The loophole pleases the tuna corporations that employ thousands of Samoans in canneries there at $3.26 an hour -- an industry-specific rate set by the U.S. Department of Labor. They have lobbied Congress for years, arguing that imposing the federal minimum wage on Samoa would cripple the economy by driving the canneries to poor countries that don't require a minimum wage.
One of the biggest opponents of the U.S. minimum wage there is StarKist Tuna, which owns one of the two packing plants that together employ more than 5,000 Samoans, or nearly 75 percent of the island's work force. The other plant belongs to California-based Chicken of the Sea.
StarKist's parent company, Del Monte Corp., is headquartered in San Francisco, which is represented by Mrs. Pelosi.
A spokeswoman for Mrs. Pelosi said yesterday that the speaker has not been lobbied in any way by StarKist or Del Monte.House OKs new minimum wage (http://www.washingtontimes.com/national/20070110-112625-6437r.htm)
"... the speaker has not been lobbied in any way by StarKist or Del Monte." Well, of course not. Why, who would EVER believe that Ms. Pelosi, the fair, upright, honest, trustworthy, incessantly smiling paragon of all goodness and niceness, would be in any way influenced by multi-million-dollar corporations HQd in her district. Golly gee whiz, what unkind thinking. Darn it!

I think it was Barney Frank who gave the speech about income inequality and the need to equalize incomes and get rid of income disparity.I can hep Bawney out. Rather than steal tax money offa me and other poor people, I propose that all the well-offers contribute everything they own in excess of a million bucks.
On a million smackers you can still live in a nice pad and surf on the latest in Power Mac and drive a state-of-the-art Humvee and eat at Mickey Dee's whenever the urge o'ertakes thee.
This plan should particularly impress the Hollywooders who go around with a woody for us middle-classers and regularly support stripping us of what we make.

He must have been ONE of the many liberals who repeat that speech like broken records. Liberals are forever bleating about "income disparity." And they never equate it with "production disparity," but that's not surprising.
Liberals think that throwing money around like confetti will make everything right, from inclement weather to terrorism. And then, they turn around and start screeching about money being at the root of all evil. Even those who make pots of it, like that stupid, hormone-imbalanced Hollywood bitch, Meryl Streep. Typical liberal inconsistency.

Funny how the 'rats whine about fairness in everything except tax rates. Fairness would be to tax everyone the same rate, but to the 'rats it's not fair for someone with a 7-figure salary to pay the same tax rate as a guy making 50Gs.
