The school board in this suburb south of Seattle has restricted showings of Al Gore's movie on global warming, including requiring that it be balanced with an adequate opposing viewpoint.

The board also required Superintendent Tom Murphy to approve when the former vice president's film, "An Inconvenient Truth," can be presented.

The decision was sparked by complaints from parents who said their child was taking the film as fact after viewing it at school.

"Condoms don't belong in school, and neither does Al Gore. He's not a schoolteacher," said Frosty Hardison, a parent of seven who doesn't want the film shown at all. ...

The National Science Teachers Association turned down an offer from the film's producers for 50,000 free DVDs for classroom use. The association said it didn't want to be seen as politically endorsing the film or open itself to requests from other special interests.

A school board in Seattle did not want to be seen as politically endorsing something dealing with Global Lying..er..Warming? Most of Western Washington is about as liberal as San Fran, this really surprises me.

I don't think the Left Coast really is as Left as it's appeared to be all these years. What I think's happened is that the conservatives have done what conservatives have always done -- sat home and not paid much attention. Now that things are touching them directly, they're not sitting at home.

People who live there say the Left dominates the cities. The interior, they say, belongs to conservatives. That's in Washington and Oregon and California.

Oh I think the Left Coast is as Left as it ever was. This just might be tied into how looney Gore is starting to appear to average guy on the street.

Am I reading this correctly? The school board in a suburb south of Seattle (Seattle - almost as commie as Maine) has restricted showings of Lying Gore's film?

My word. What next? Flying pigs (and I don't mean Ted Kennedy in a plane, either)?

This person returns my faith in the American people. There might still be hope for this country, after all.

Jd, if you want to aspire to the most basic credibility, you must cite serious sources instead of that British garbage wrapper.
