Over the weekend, the National Conference for Media Reform was held in Memphis, TN, with a number of notable speakers on hand for the event. Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) made an surprise appearance at the convention to announce that he would be heading up a new House subcommittee which will focus on issues surrounding the Federal Communications Commission.

The Presidential candidate said that the committee would be holding "hearings to push media reform right at the center of Washington.” The Domestic Policy Subcommittee of the House Government Reform Committee was to be officially announced this week in Washington, D.C., but Kucinich opted to make the news public early.

I don't think they'll do anything so subtle. They'll just try to force the FCC outta bidness or to shut down talk radio.

The RATs lust for total control of the media, and the "Fairness Doctrine" is the sort of thinly veiled censorship that they will use to silence talk radio.

If, e.g., station WXXX carries Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glen Beck and Savage, under the FD, they will be required to give an equal amount of time to RAT/liberal propaganda. The station would realize that the forced airtime would not generate a significant audience, ergo sponsors would not be found for the liberal crap.

What would be the only logical response from WXXX management? A: switch to top-40 format and to hell with talk radio. The RAT bastards don't want equal time. They want to silence the conservative radio presence in order to regain their unchallenged domination of all the media.

This is intolerable and cannot be permitted.

Fortunately, the S.Ct. is no longer overrun by leftists and even they might understand that the fairness doctrine violates free speech.

Oh, like they care! The only speech leftists don't want violated is their own and that of every America-hater out there.

They don't give a damn if conservatives' freedom of speech is violated. On the contrary, they welcome it. They know too well what a powerful weapon conservative radio talk show is.

Move the progressive agenda to where it is visible? He must mean they intend to pull their collective heads out of each other's asses.

Where it is visible. That's virtually all that was visible in the media throughout the 20th century. Bury it.
