It took decades for colleges to remove religion, specifically Christianity from sporting events. It seems that prayer might be coming back to college sports, in the form of Islam.

You can bet they are going to try... There are no limits to the arrogance of this cult of death and slavery... They have stated openly, time and again, that they intend to enslave the world... We may as well begin with their invasion of our sporting events...

But dont worry, Kathy, this is only a temporary measure... When the Islamic Courts rule the world, it will be a capital crime to watch a sporting event, as evidenced by the people they murdered last year in Africa for the heinous crime of actually watching the World Soccer Cup tournament on Television...

This request goes beyond reasonable accomodation. They can pray, they just don't like the conditions. The school is under no obligation provide a special space for non-mandatory events as current conditions do not prevent or impede their prayers.

They can go someplace else if they don't like the conditions.

Create a general prayer space. Empty out one of the storage rooms and allow people of all religions to pray there. Problem solved. The people are accommodated, and no one is offended (or no one should be offended, anyway).

Let's all be realistic about this... Everyone here knows that prayer invoked at spoting events has ALWAYS been to ask God's blessings on the event, to protect the players from injury, and encourage the players to sportsmanlike conduct... I live in the so-called Bible Belt and I have never EVER attended a sporting event where the prayer invoked was anything more than a broadly generic request for God's blessing on the event...

There is NOTHING whatsoever that could possibly be construed as offensive ot promotional of a single religious belief in any of the prayers that have been invoked...

If someone's religious practices are so rigid as to be incompatable with a public sporting event, then one should stay home and watch it on TV... There they may go into whatever religious contortions they desire during the commercials...

This demand by these Muslims is tantamount to a religious tea-totaller demanding that beer sales be banned from the consession stands because it offends them personally... What's next - Will they demand that the cheerleaders wear full burkas?

This is AMERICA - Conform to OUR culture or get the HELL OUT!!!

"This is AMERICA - Conform to OUR culture or get the HELL OUT!!!"

That's exactly what Australia told them. Why can't we???

Because America has become weak. We will give in to their demands.

Muslims are demanding a private room to pray at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, saying there will be problems if they have to share an existing "quiet room" with people of other religions.

"Where you have Christians and Muslims praying at the same time, it will create a problem," said Fuad Ali, a Somali leader who spoke at a meeting with airport officials, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press.Muslims warn of 'problems' in shared prayer room (http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=53621)

If they want a special prayer place, how about the parking lot? or how about meeting at one of the guys' place before the game? how about the night before?

I've been plenty of places where folks of other faiths prayed. I respected them and the prayer and it didn't hurt me a bit and I didn't think myself a hero for doing it. I refuse to believe that Muslims are so tender psychically that they can't bend a bit to accommodate others rather than others always having to accommodate them.
