A south Georgia woman bloodied in a car wreck says she owes her life to a German shepherd who _ thankfully _ just wouldn't stay in his yard.
Shannon Lorio says that after her car careened down an embankment, the wayward dog found her bruised and battered on the vehicle's trunk, pulled her by her shirt collar, dragged her about 50 yards through briars to a highway and let her lean against him so she could flag a passing motorist.

I saw this this morning on FOX. They reported that the dog was a stray.
Whatever he is, he's a hero.
This is one of those "heart-warmers."

Lorio, 36, of Pavo, said she can't adopt Hero because she already has six dogs,. . . You'd think they could make an exception for this exceptional dog for this exceptional case. Or was that her decision?

If they wouldn't make an exception, she should get a friend or neighbor to take one of her dogs or the savior dog. I'll take him, although I'm sure somebody already has. Maybe he was a search dog at one time?
What a wonderful story. Dogs are absolutely just the best creatures ever.

I think it was Ms. Lorio's decision to not adopt the dog, and her reasoning is understandable. I'm just wondering if the dog will be "fixed" before he's adopted out.
