France's Education Ministry has warned schools around the country against Islamic creationism theories after several thousand copies of an anti-Darwinist book from Turkey were mailed to them, an official said.
The lavishly illustrated Atlas of Creation by Harun Yahya, a shadowy figure who runs a large Islamic publishing operation from Istanbul, was sent to schools and universities over the past 10 days in a move that has baffled authorities, she said.
The Turkish original of the 768-page book, which rejects evolution, first appeared in Turkey late last year when it was also sent unsolicited to schools.
It sees Charles Darwin's theory of the "survival of the fittest" as the root of many of today's ills, including modern terrorism.

Oh, the delicious irony. With whom shall you side? Muslim creationists? Modern evolutionary theory? The French Government?!
Timber, Doom and Nut's heads are likely imploding at the prospect!

Why would you make such a ludicrous claim? You're apparently not acquainted with the old adage, "even a broken clock is right twice a day".
The French, for all their warts, embrace nuclear power production. We should follow their lead.
If muzzies believe creation theory...well...at least they get ONE thing right.
The US Government allied itself with the Afghan freedom fighters in their efforts to repel the Soviets attempted invasion of their country (back in the 70s and 80s). One of the leaders we supported? Osama bin Laden (if my information is correct). Another case...Saddam Hussein. We supported his efforts against Iran in the 70s and 80s, also. Sometimes one's allies on one subject/front/point in time, cease to be so on another...
What's the problem?

This comment is telling of the liberal mindset.
Why would their heads implode at the prospect? They probably "won't side" with any of the three you mentioned, rarely do.
To them, it's replacing an incorrect theory with a not-so-incorrect theory. But France is replacing YOUR theory, brings to mind the old saying "cutting off your nose to spite your face".

I knew that didn't 'sound' quite right when I posted it. Thanks for the info, dP.
However, we DID support the Afghans...the whole "we created Osama" malarkey came from the freedom fighters (who we supported) defeating the Soviets and the Islamofascists (who we didn't) taking credit by dispersing pics of themselves on the burned out Soviet tanks...
A case where 1+1 seemingly equaled 2, but in reality, didn't. My apologies.

I thought Osama was created by his parents. Is there some suggestion from the left that he's a Frankenstein's monster or something?
