I don't think Hillary hides much of the fact that she's an oil-swilling socialist. Anyone who makes a buck should be aware that it rightfully belongs to Hil-Hil.

But! But! But! Exxon's profit was only 10.46% of revenues, about average for successful corporations and considerably less than the profits of dot.com giants like Yahoo and Google

Correct ... 10% is a marginal profit margin ... just one disaster away from financial troubles ...

N-T ... I wonder , now that Al Gore is a gig shot at Apple , if Hillary would go after Apples SOARING profits this past year ???

Revenue was $4.37 billion, up 24 percent from last year's quarterly revenue of $3.52 billion. Net income was $472 million, or 54 cents per share, an improvement of 48 percent ...

I think we need to tax the profits of Hillary, Algore, John Effen and friends.

I think we need to tax the profits of Hillary, Algore, John Effen and friends. That's where it gets problematic. Any company that Pelosi had ties to, she wouldn't extend the bureaucracy to. I figure since Gore is such an expert on the internet and television, he's slimy enough to evade them as well.

These RATs want capitalism for themselves, but quasi-socialism for everyone else. They refuse to comprehend the consequences of unneccesary bureaucratic intrusion. After all, class envy is what motivates millions of clueless Americans to vote Democrat and keep them in power.

What does the average oil company make today on the sale of a gallon of gasoline? About ten cents.

The federal tax on gasoline is nearly twice that. Then there’s state gasoline taxes. If you live in New York you’re paying 68 cents a gallon in taxes.

If Exxon is "gouging" at ten cents a gallon, what exactly is the federal government doing at 18.4 cents a gallon? Who is gouging whom?

Exxon’s profit margins are only 10.7%. Profit margins at Microsoft are 26%. Perhaps we should pass a windfall profits tax on software companies.

What the Dem's fear most is that someone will find out that Corps. don't pay taxes, no matter how much the government charge them. That is simply the cost of doing business, and is passed on to the consumer. Just another way to promote "hidden" taxes on EVERYONE, including the poorest of us. This should be hammered into every little skull full of mush from 1st grade on.!!!!

Hillary will "make" much more than all of the oil companies combined, considering the gas tax is almost double what the corporate profits are. The corporations don't seem to need us so much as we need them for job creation, trade, and the distribution of natural resources. But taxing them out of the country could lead to a disaster.

The gas tax doesn't hurt the corporations as much as it hurts ordinary Americans who are paying almost twenty cents more per gallon then they should have to (correct me if you have more accurate figures).

The "village" will do us no good if the government continues to pickpocket ordinary Americans into poverty.

Double? Someone posted an item a month or so back from one of the reliable think tanks, that said Big Oil makes 8.5% on each gallon a gas sold. So if gasoline is at two bucks, Big Oil makes 17 cents per gallon. All the rest is taxes.
