There was no point to the story. It was just a snapshot from 40+ years ago.

If any point could be found, it would be to highlight where American/Muslim relations were forty years ago as compared to today.

I'm not talking about government-to-government relations. I'm talking about person-to-person relations.

In today's world, no working man in his right mind would even think about taking a job in Pakistan on a project like we were on [seven years], and taking his wife and children with him. That would be absolute lunacy. A man might take the job and leave his wife and children at home --many have done that in Iraq, but no one would take the family. Waaaaay too dangerous.

In today's world, I'm not sure that an American company would even be given the contract on a project like we were on; it's more likely that the Main Contractor would be from any country other than America.
