Canards, 2D thrust vectoring, and two Saturn AL 31 high bypass turbofans with 27,500 pounds of thrust each, will do it every time. Whats really amazing is that this is a huge aircraft. 73 feet long, 48 feet wide, and 22 feet tall. Thats much Bigger than a F 15 or Tomcat.

Rumor has it Hugo Chavez bought 25 of these last year from Mother Russia.

The US is said to have had problems with these a year or two ago at Cope India, a joint training execise. But then they also said we had troubles with upgraded Mig 21's. A 40 year old design. In every excercise the US was outnumbered and had handicaps. Who knows if they did have trouble or just said they did to increase funding for the F22.

Oddly the fighter that is the biggest threat to our fighters is the older mig 25's. They have a very strong BVR radar and weapons, and computer linking. One of these is believed to have shot down Lt Speicher, the so-called missing pilot. Outside of its BVR fighting ability, the 25 cant dogfight a lick.
