...and the annual attack on the resurrection has arrived!

Jesus' bones have been found! Iz'zat so?

What are we to make of this? While Cameron and Jacobovici claim they have good evidence that this is indeed where Jesus was buried, there has been skepticism among archaeologists (especially the ones who excavated the gravesite in 1980), as well as Christian leaders who are frustrated at yet another attempt, Da Vinci style, to discredit the traditional faith. Even the secular media have been dubious. Newsweek writes, “Good sense, and the Bible, still the best existing historical record of Jesus of Nazareth, argue against Jacobovici’s claims.” Time magazine called the theory “problematic” and filled with “debatable conjecture.” They’re right. Here’s why.

"The worldly wise do not believe in the resurrection of the dead. It is really quite absurd [to them]. So everything from the Easter morning to the Ascension had to be made up by the groveling enthusiasts as part of their plan to get themselves martyred."
-- Antonin Scalia re unbelievers' scorn for Christians

Oh, the ever-enlightened left will tell you that the Bible is as "debatable" and "open to interpretation (that it's all a load of BS)" as the Constitution.

But Heaven help the heretic who does not believe in, and makes fun of, Global Warming. Hell is too good for him/her.

I don't believe that everything happened EXACTLY as shown in the Bible, and I was intrigued by this story. I came away underimpressed, it appears all they've done is find some boxes with what appears to be random scratches on them, and the fact that two of the people were genetically unrelated. But wonder of wonders, there wasn't enough dna to do testing on the rest of the tombs. So you can't prove that Jesus had a son, or that his parents were there. Good work!

Conclusion: this is a non-event. They made some bogus claims to drum up viewership for their show. It's all money related.
