Looks to me like the suit was filed against the wrong defendants. It is not the manufacturers who drive the millions of cars that are allegedly cauing global warming (a highly doubtful concept in the first place). It is individual people who do so. thus, they are the ones who should be sued.
Man!!!! Think how much money you could sue for!!! How much do you think the entire driving population is worth? Talk about deep pockets!!
Automakers ask judge
to dismiss global warming lawsuit

SAN FRANCISCO - Six leading American and Japanese automakers asked a federal judge in San Francisco today to dismiss a public nuisance lawsuit filed against them by the state of California over global warming.
The car manufacturers' lawyer, Theodore Boutrous, argued to U.S. District Judge Martin Jenkins that the case doesn't belong in court because global warming is a policy issue.
"Global warming is fraught with economic, political and social issues of global significance," Boutrous said.
"This is a classic case where this is a political issue," he said........

You don't know the half of it. The devil is truly in the details. They're also engaging in deliberate harassment of global warming skeptics in connection with this lawsuit, including YOU if you have ever had any correspondence with them.
....In a pre-trial discovery motion, California and the environmental groups asked for:
All DOCUMENTS relating to both GLOBAL WARMING and to any of the following individuals: S. Fred Singer, James Glassman, David Legates, Richard Lindzen, Patrick J. Michaels, Thomas Gale Moore, Robert C. Balling, Jr., Sherwood B. Idso, Craig D. Idso, Keith E. Idso, Sallie Baliunas, Paul Reiter, Chris Homer [sic], Ross McKitrick, Julian Morris, Frederick Seitz, Willie Soon, and Steven Milloy, including but not limited to:
All DOCUMENTS relating to any communications between YOU and these individuals, and
All DOCUMENTS relating to YOUR relationship (or the relationship of any automobile manufacturer or association of automobile manufacturers) with any of them, including but not limited to payments directly or indirectly from YOU or any other automobile manufacturer or association of automobile manufacturer to any of them....
....By keeping the discussion focused on whether there really is a problem, these dozen or so dissidents—contradicting the consensus view held by 2,500 of the world’s top climate scientists—have until now prevented discussion about how to address the problem.
California then asserts that:
As set forth above, Defendants are entitled to review the documents most likely to contain internal dissent at the manufacturers and the most likely such documents are those dealing with the tactics of entities like the GCC and individuals like the “climate skeptics.”....http://www.junkscience.com/Skeptics_on_trial.htm
In short, they're trying to use this lawsuit to harass people skeptical of global warming, and potentially anyone who agrees with said skeptics.

Time for a new episode of 24, where San Fagsicko is nuked, and Bauer and the CTU spend the next 24 hours trying to find someone who gives a shit. It will be the first season that ends with no success.

I almost didn't make it thru the first season of that show. Too many moments of "whatacrock" and "thatwouldNEVERhappen" for me to stay with it. I did though. I'm near the end of season 3 on DVD. I hear it gets a LOT more improbable in the current season. I am not watching the current season though. I'll wait for it to come out on DVD.

DVD is the only way to go. Wide-screen and no ads, and you can pig out on it. I finished season 1 in three sessions.
It's much better with a computer monitor and surround sound.
