Says Libby's conviction points to vice president's involvement in CIA leak
By John Nichols
George McGovern has a word for Vice President Dick Cheney: "Resign."
Responding to Tuesday's conviction of Cheney's former chief-of-staff, I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, on charges of obstruction of justice, perjury and lying to the FBI - after a trial that revealed Cheney's intimate involvement with a scheme to discredit a critic of the administration's war policies - the former congressman, senator and presidential candidate said it was time for the vice president to go.
"What we have learned about how he has conducted himself leaves no doubt that he should be out of office," McGovern says of Cheney. "If he had any respect for the Constitution or the country, he would resign."
And if Cheney does not take the liberal Democrat's counsel?
"There is no question in my mind that Cheney has committed impeachable offenses. So has George Bush," argues McGovern. "Bush is much more impeachable than Richard Nixon was. That's been clear for some time. There does not seem to be much sentiment for impeachment in Congress now, but around the country people are fed up with this administration."

Oh, I think a lot of people cared what George said. Unfortunately, at least for him (and them, but not for the rest of us), they were all too stoned to vote come election day.
Not that he would have won, but the vote would have been a little closer.

It's disgusting that even the 'Rat has beens are coming out of the woodwork to pile on and accuse, yet scarcely a single 'Pub has grabbed the pair God gave him and stood up to these relentless liars, pointing out that there was no CIA leak crime, and if there was, Richard Armitage would have been been the one to have been charged.

I didn't know "McGove the Dove" was still alive........ Pity........Well he's old and he's gonna die soon.
But while he's still around, I'd like him to shove it where the sun don't shine.

I didn't know "McGove the Dove" was still alive........ Pity........I'm not sure that he is, at least mentally.
I'd take foreign-policy advice from Paris Hilton before I'd listen to ol' George.

It's my understanding McGovern was very popular in Guam. He got all of the island's electoral votes. All zero (0) of them.

It's funny I read the verdict on the Libby Trial, seems he was convicted of Lying, not a word about Vast Conspiracies. Perhaps Senilitiy as arrived in McGovernland

It's my understanding McGovern was very popular in Guam. He got all of the island's electoral votes. All zero (0) of them.He also took Massholechusetts (big surprise). Incredibly, Reagan took MA in '84. There's an unarguable sign of his popularity.

Well, I would prefer to see most/all of this Administration 'go' and be replaced by other, more competent people, but I fail to see why Cheney would go now....Libby's convicted, it's not like he can prevent that by falling on his sword. He was never charged, why would he go at this point?

Because liberals want his head SO badly. That's why. They are the ones who are caterwauling against Cheney. Liberals hate Cheney with a viciousness that only Islamofascists can equal.

Me too...I'd like to see a reincarnation of Ronald Reagan as President. As his VP, I'd be all for Gingrich...as his Sec of State, I'd like to see someone like Tancredo...as his Sec of Defense, how about someone like Ollie North?
Yeah, we need competent governance.
but I fail to see why Cheney would go now....Libby's convicted,
Yeah, of a crime he never committed. Wanna talk perjury? Let's talk Clinton.
it's not like he can prevent that by falling on his sword. He was never charged, why would he go at this point?

It is appalling that the state which was responsible for the uprising that created this nation has so departed the principles on which the nation was founded!
What is even worse...is they repeatedly elect the two cretins to the Senate that continually assault the traditions of this great nation.

Well said, Etaoin. :claps:
Poor Framers. They must be turning in their graves. I bet they never thought the country the fought so hard to liberate from the British yoke would have to endure another dictatoship: new liberalism.
Wish that the Framers would were still alive.
