...and there are those who wonder why the Democrats FEAR this man. Straight talkin'...pullin' no punches..."just the facts, ma'am"...
Fred, you keep on doin' what yer doin' and you'll be enjoying a Reaganesque landslide victory come November 2008.

If I were him though, I wouldn't let my intinerary be known to too many "fellow" politicians......especially on the other side of the aisle!

Fred picked an issue that no one except extreme libiots could disagree with.
Let's hear what he has to say about the Scooter Libby lynching, the USDA firings (including slamming Hillary for her gross hypocrisy), the scheduled defeat in Iraq, the Diane Fiendstein scandal, the ...

It's a shame no one will listen to him. I say we give him a bigger platform. ;)
I really wish we could hear from Reagan, on all of the things going on in this world today.

There should be archives of a lot of his stuff available. He couldn't address the specific issues, but in a general way he could still offer a lot of food for thought.

We've all wanted someone like Reagan to show up. I do believe that we found him. Thank God.

Ya know, for a guy who isnt running for President, he certainly has a lot of dogmatic opinions of current events.... :thumb: I think the Vegas book makers should start a line on WHEN Fred Thompson will announce his campaign... IMO, its no longer a question of IF... Its a question of WHEN...
As to this installment of "Fred's Fireside Chats (thanx Homegirl... I really depend on your Thompson posts to keep me in the loop), Fred, once again, is right on the mark... Pure Reagan Common Sense...
In this evolving world political environment, we should pull every last troop out of Europe (should have done that years ago), withdraw to our own hemisphere (plenty of threats right here in our own backyard), and start a massive military buildup of our own... Events are developing to the point where we are going to need a very large, well equipped military just for our own survival...
And when Europe gets in trouble, no help from us until they come to us en masse and ask publicly for us to intervene... No more acting as the World's Daddy to ingrateful, hateful, bitter psuedo-allies...
The day is coming very soon where we will be standing alone against some very evil forces...

I'm not sure that "dogmatic" is really the right word. But this kind of "off the radar" public speaking is yet another corollary to The Great One's life.
For many years before Ronald Reagan became President, or even ran for any office, no one could possibly get him to shut up about America and how great it was. The story goes that Reagan used to agree to any group who would let him speak to them - Rotary Clubs, Toastmasters, Ladies Auxiliaries... you name it. He'd get in his car and drive as far as he had to everytime somebody called. Ronald credits Nancy not with spurring him on, but rather making him STOP doing that penny-ante stuff, and helping him focus his to-the-bone patriotism on bigger goals.
