His serious aviation habit means he is hardly the best person to lecture others on the environment. But John Travolta went ahead and did it anyway.

But although he readily admitted: "I fly jets", he failed to mention he actually owns five, along with his own private runway.

Clocking up at least 30,000 flying miles in the past 12 months means he has produced an estimated 800 tons of carbon emissions – nearly 100 times the average Briton's tally.

Travolta made his comments this week at the British premiere of his movie, Wild Hogs. With five private jets, Travolta still lectures on global warming (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/showbiz/showbiznews.html?in_article_id=445490&in_page_id=1773)

Another "Do as I say, not as I do!" Hollyweird liberal steps in it. But maybe Al's company will sell him carbon credits.

Those are OLD jets too. Before they had started adding some of "pollution control" stuff. So they put out more fumes than the ones flying commercially now.

No surprise, really, from Vinny Babarino.

I DO like the pic of his house, particularly the Quantas 707 at the bottom. I saw it up close once in Boston.

True of the 707 but NOT of the Gulfstream at the top.

I didn't know about that one. :)

But still if he was flying commercially he wouldn't be adding anything extra. Or better yet he could just stay in Hollywood.

I still find it amazing as to why these pop culture movie stars think that the world hangs brethlessly on their every pronouncement on such issues...

If we think Al Gore's tree-hugging lectures are worthless tripe, what in God's name makes this Hollywood has-been think we would be interested in his opinion?

Here's a closer look at a Gulfstream, Suzie, that was parked in my hangar at work a couple of weeks back. It's even nicer on the inside:

He doesn't have his own private runway. The rest is pretty accurate. And he even admits that he probably isn't the best person to lecture on this. I'll give him credit for that.

The scary thing is that some people DO!! I am always amazed that people listen to someone trying to make money off of what you think of them because they say whatever the person with the money wants to hear. He will be adored by the Producers and Movie Makers who put him in movies and that means $$$ for him.

Must be nice huh? :D He should give it away to one of us since we are evil conservatives who all hate trees. ;)

Travolta, a Scientologist, claimed the solution to global warming could be found in outer space and blamed his hefty flying mileage on the nature of the movie business.

But Mars already has global warming so why move there? That too will be Bush's fault!

I'm glad someone else brings up this reference besides me in regards to Mars' melting ice caps.

He lives WAY too close to me, and even closer to my Mom. Too close for comfort -- he should move back to Kalifornia.
