Government must deal with greenhouse gases: US Supreme Court (http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=070402160408.i1mdzqip&show_article=1)
The US Supreme Court ruled Monday that the Environmental Protection Agency must consider greenhouse gases as pollutants, in a blow to the White House.
"Because greenhouse gases fit well within the Clean Air Act's capacious definition of 'air pollutant' we hold that EPA has the statutory authority to regulate the emission of such gases from new motor vehicles," the court ruled.
Led by Massachusetts, a dozen states along with several US cities and environmental groups went to the courts to determine whether the agency had the authority to regulate greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide emissions.

The junk-science religion of Saint Gore is running amok amongst ignorant people in authority. It's going to come to a head and there will be rebellion.

Tell you what. Let all the followers of the global warming cult ride bicycles, or donkeys, or they can walk if they want. But I insist on using 21st century means of transport. If stupid liberals want to go back to biblical times, by all means. Just leave me out of the madness.

Of course they do! Ignore that house with private jets in the driveway, and that 20-room mansion that uses 20x as much electricity as a 6-room house with a live-in family. Just remember that when their owners tell you to conserve and save the world from destruction next week, they are wise and insightful (and they buy carbon offsets to negate their size 99,000 carbon footprints).

It is so depressing seeing the country run by a judicial dictatorship. As the politicians and public argue over global warming and appropriate public policy we think we make a difference, but then courts once more cancel democracy and act like the Imans of Iran - 'the democratic debate is not necessary, we declare what policy this 'democracy' must follow...your debates are useless amusements to the Ruling Council of Five.
So why bother? I knew this was coming for the last year so I also knew that debate was pointless. There were times that I thought it might be worthy of my full-time committment to arguing our views of climate science and public policy - but the court's simply say 'we must' accept warming and 'we must' regulate it.
Sometimes I feel we live in a version of "the matrix", a reality that is merely a chimera of democracy, a constitution, or a free state. "When you pay your taxes, go to work, go to church" we are in the liberal matrix... sigh.

One thing is a fact: more people means more trash, more use of resources, and more "pollution". So, why does government allow 20 million illegal aliens to remain, here, contributing to violation of EPA standards? Shouldn't the Supreme Court deport them based on this fact alone? If they're going to regulate cars, shouldn't the court demand that existing immigration laws, whose violation creates more pollution than lower CAFE standards, be enforced and violators prosecuted and fined???? Hmmmmmmm?

It also "sends a clear signal to the market that the future lies not in dirty, outdated technology of yesterday, but in clean energy solutions of tomorrow like wind, solar," he added.
Outdated technology?! Wind and Solar generated power the future?! Insanity!
I have one question: which pissant Republican appointed justice gave these morons the majority?

Ok, I was going to say the obvious, but since it's Holy Week, I'll make an effort and pass.

Since when does the SCOTUS have the authority to dictate what the fedgov will do? They exist to rule on the constitutionality of laws and lower court rulings. They have no say in making policy decisions. This activist-court bullshit has to be ended.

Bush says he takes climate change "very seriously" (http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=070403170620.6p8r6oqf&show_article=1)
"The decision (of) the Supreme Court we take very seriously. It's the new law of the land," Bush told reporters.
He insisted that "I've taken this issue very seriously. I have said that it is a serious problem. I recognize that man is contributing greenhouse gases."
But Bush argued that "anything that happens cannot hurt economic growth. I care about the working people of the country but also because in order to solve the greenhouse gas issue over a longer period of time, it's going to require new technologies, which tend to be expensive."
Bush said that "whatever we do, it must be in concert with what happens internationally.
