'Strong Possibility' Gas Will Rise to $4
Today's report shows that the national supply of gas is at the low end of its average range for this time of year, meaning the United States will have less gas in the tank before the peak summer driving season in the coming months.
Analysts said that puts the country on the edge, making any disruption in supply — such as a hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico refining regions or an expansion of the crisis in the Middle East — that much more dangerous.
"Everyone asks me, will we see $4 a gallon? And the answer is, there is a strong possibility that we may see $4 a gallon," said Flynn.

I think they're probably referring to the national average.

No doubt. Which means when everybody else is paying $4 per gallon, Arizona gas will go to $4.25.

When are we gonna give the econutz a swift kick in the ballz, tell 'em to lick their wounds, STFU, & then begin building new refineries?
THAT is the reason for our high gasoline prices...no refineries have been built in the past 25-30 years and the ones we DO have are operating at or above 93% of capacity.
Time to declare "open season" on the rabid environmentalists...

In most places, public transportation is a joke, and high fuel prices tend to require fare increases, which end up largely defeating any cost savings that come from taking the bus. For the vast majority of Americans, riding a bike or walking to work or anywhere else is not a viable alternative.
Switching to hybrid or high-mileage vehicles is possible, but takes time. Also, hybrid vehicles still cost a lot more than their "conventional" counterparts, meaning that you will have to have the vehicle at least three and more likely five years before the fuel cost savings offset the vehicle's price.
Many "economy" cars are very small, uncomfortable, unsafe, and impractical.

I predict at least $7 per gallon before global warming destroys us in 2040.

I'm predicting $7 per gallon in 2040 with or without global warming.

Time to declare "open season" on the rabid environmentalists...I believe if the gas prices crack well above $3 per gallon on a national average, the resultant effect right across the economy is going to be painful enough to force Washington to take some specific steps to bring the price down - That means relaxing EPA regs on new refineries AND drilling in Alaska...
The Iranians' recent antics have driven the crude oil price way up recently... Its high time we simply stopped buying OPEC oil and pumped from our own vast reserves... That would scare the hell out of OPEC and their prices would drop like a rock... That, coupled with new refinery capacity, should bring the price down to resonable levels...
There is absolutely NO reason why we should be paying these kind of prices for gasoline... There is NO oil shortage... These prices are entirely resultant from government policy decisions...

Somewhere between twenty and two hundred years from now.
(BTW, did you ever notice that the people who keep telling us that burning fossil fuel for that long will kill all of us are the SAME PEOPLE who also keep telling us we're going to run out of fossil fuel a long time before then?)

It's likely that gas prices will be closer to $2 than to $3 by the end of summer.

In less that 2 weeks gas prices around here have dropped from $3.059 to $2.899 and analysts are predicting gas in the $2.50-range by August as supplies catch up with demand.

Still paying 3.49 for premium which is all my Acura MDX takes. Wisconsin gas taxes...hooray, and our retarded democrat governor just proposed a fee on total world wide revenue on gas companies to tax them more when they hardly even do business here. Just amazing.

DemocRATs are genetically predisposed to inventing new taxes and raising existing ones. The herd needs to be culled.
