Kansas Tornado Cop Dies After Daughter's Bedside Wedding

Tuesday, May 08, 2007

GREENSBURG, Kansas — A police officer critically injured in the Greensburg tornado died early Tuesday, adding more heartbreak for residents as they continued to salvage what's left of their flattened town after one of the strongest tornados to hit the U.S. in the past eight years.

Robert Tim Buckman, a 46-year-old officer from nearby Macksville, suffered a head injury in Friday's storm that killed nine others in Greensburg, officials said. He died early Tuesday at a Wichita hospital, his son Derick Buckman told The Associated Press.

"He died being a hero," Derick Buckman said. "He was sworn to protect people, and that's what he was doing the night he got picked up by a tornado."

During his final hours, Robert Buckman symbolically gave away his 18-year-old daughter in a marriage ceremony at his bedside, his son said. The family's hometown preacher officiated at the ceremony for Kylee Buckman and her boyfriend, Josh Mondello, 22, Derick's best friend.

"He was there with his daughter to give her away," said Derick Buckman, a 25-year-old firefighter.....http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,270584,00.html

God bless Officer Buckman and his family. One hopes that he and his daughter will one day be reunited where there will no more sorrow or parting.

Crawl back under your tombstone, Tombstone. That was rude.

Maybe.
But maybe I just have a few years on you in the real life.

Being older then someone (in which case you believe you are), shouldn't you know how to behave? Were you not taught decency, or manners? This is the second topic I have seen you post on today, and in both you come across as a intolerant, ignorant, opinionated, rude, jerk. I usually do not make such statements in a personal way. Though your actions today merit such a statement. If you enjoy attacking people personally, or just being rude over the internet in this fassion that is your right. Just don't expect anyone to take you seriously, or concider your opinion on anything.

You will become how others see you, irrelivent. Good day and good luck in life, from what I have read today you may need it.

That was contemptible. Buh-bye, troll.I wish I had seen that post earlier. I wouldn't have have wasted any energy responding to that disease on another thread.

The Buckmans sound like a great family. This is so sad. We are saying prayers for them.

To tombstone: You are a despicable human being.

To Robert Tim Buckman: Anyone who puts their life on the line to protect other people is a hero in my book. May God bring comfort to your family.

Tombstone is obviously one of those liberals who can't differentiate shitty from sophisticated. Sneering at heroism is the giveaway. It always is.

Dude, you're not real. You're not "ahead on life." You're just shitty. Go shit somewhere else.
