LA HABRA, Calif. — An Orange County man cut off his mother's head with a circular saw and then died after trying to decapitate himself, authorities said.

Police answered a 911 report of a family dispute at a Pinehurst Avenue home just after 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, entered a locked bedroom and found the body of 60-year-old Guadalupe Ruiz on a bed, police spokeswoman Cindy Knapp said.

Authorities said Ruiz pleaded guilty to driving drunk in Garden Grove in 1999, was sentenced to 45 days in jail for being under the influence of drugs in Fullerton in 2000 and was given 18 days in jail for refusing to leave a home in 2004.

Dude didn't think this out. To cut off your own head, you need a table saw with a large blade. Then you set yourself up at right angles to the blade, neck the right distance, and heave your neck down on the blade.

It helps a lot to have the switch on so the blade's already turning at high speed when the paths of neck and blade intersect.

Also, if you wanna be particularly thoughtful, you can have a basket on the floor in the spot where the lopped off head should land. It's also considerate of the janitors to have piles of blankets in place to absorb liquids.

Okay. Now that I've laid it all out, I expect to be sued by some idiot liberal attempting to following this recipe for self decapitation -- and failing.

I would have bet a million to one that the poor woman knew what type of asshole the son was, and that she insisted upon helping him as much as she could both monetarily and room- and boardwise. Never take a rattlesnake in to take care of it. I've seen plenty of those naive, clueless parents. Their child, right or wrong. Screw them all!
