Alabama Mayor Caught Driving Stolen Vehicle

Lipscomb, Ala., Mayor Simon Speights Sr. was found driving a stolen vehicle last Friday Jefferson County Sheriff's Department Spokesman Sgt. Randy Christian told FOXNews.com.

When confronted, Speights reportedly told investigators he had indeed driven the vehicle. The car was originally from Virginia and had been reported stolen in Walker County, Ala., in September 2005.

Christian said the vehicle ended up in Brighton, Ala., where the town mayor there said it had been impounded. While in Brighton, the Virginia license plates on it were switched to municipal ones....http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,287046,00.html

Now, if he can come up with a couple 'used' trash trucks, a couple 'used' police cruisers, etc, he could lower property taxes and become an overnight hero.:evilgrin:

Im not suprised that this happened in Lipscomb/Brighton... How shall I put this tactfully? Those "communities" are decidedly 3rd World municipalities where public office is a wide open conduit to corruption... And the office holders are too stupid and too arrogant to even TRY to cover up their thefts...
