Earlier today I posted the Senate cloture results, a bit confused regarding Senator Brownback's vote. I could have sworn that I heard him vote YES, then heard the clerk (10 minutes later) say he voted NO.
The blogs also caught this and NOW its clear. Senator Brownback did vote for Amenesty, then when it became clear that his side was losing he asked the clerk to change it to NO. He voted for it before he voted against it.

This blunder will finish off his campaign...now and in the future. He did not have the guts to stand by his conviction (having abstained on many prior votes) and had his John Kerry moment (last year Brownback cried about illegals according to one Press report).
On most issues he is a solid conservative. But his personal grit is lacking.
