View Full Version : Fairness Doctrine Loses 309 - 115 In The House

Put this one in the books too.
The House votes 309-115 for a Mike Pence amendment barring the FCC from imposing it.
By the way, let's be real clear, you still had 115 assholes who voted for it even though it was temporarily tossed into history's shitcan. And that in itself is frightening stuff.

Gotta love the dorks who say 'present' but don't vote. Brave soul there Mr. Cohen.
Hastert and Waxman didn't vote. Probably wanna be able to stay out of the 'controversy'.
But, the 'crats, taken alone & as a whole did vote for censorship 115 to 113.
The 'pubs at least had the wherewithal to have solidarity for once, rejecting this idiocy.
But the 'crats had a majority for Peking radio.

What I want to know is who even puts this agenda as well as the immigration bill on the docket?
Who is THAT PERSON?
We need to find IT and fast because THAT'S the problem, the agenda MONKEY.
Who's putting this shit even up for a vote? Who is the Congress agenda starter? Maybe I need a civics lesson, but I know that whoever is in charge of it is the issue here.
Also, the wide margin of defeat here, coupled with republican solidarity on this one, says a lot. And since it followed on the heels of the douching of the amnesty bill, methinks that the beltway regulars got scared and are wising up to that unseen mass of angry patriots. Methinks they are freaked out and finally recognized, at least for a lil' while, that they can't cordone off debate from the rest of us and that is the result of what I call 'quick talk' which means online mobilization and forums & blogs. We can react a whole helluva lot quicker than before.

Again, do not associate with people in love with the word 'fair'. They are whiners and whiners are losers and losers pretend to be victims and victims justify their actions, any action as disgusting as it may be by VIRTUE of their victimhood because in lefty diction victimhood is the highest virtue.
Stay away from 'victims' or people who claim to be one. There are only a few victims in the real world; the mother and child of that Ben Wa wrestler asshole & maybe, MAYBE, the Jews in 1938. Besides them, no one.
Anyway, beware of the peddlers of FAIR. They are tommorrow's monsters. And Diane Feinstein and anyone who voted for the FAIRness DOCtrine are a part of that social disease.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but the Majority Leader of both houses sets the agendas.

That's what I thought. Thank you.

The face behind the evil shit slew.
The face behind the agenda we've been pulling our hair out over for the last 3 weeks right here.
So, let's be clear here, when we vote to punish R's we have to what? Hyperventilate every third week, hoping that our country doesn't' get flushed down the crapper until the next election in OH EIGHT? Is that how it works?

Am I blind? I didnt see Bela Pelosi's name on any of the lists? Anyone know how the she-devil voted?
Now can someone explain the details? Is this a temporary ban? I heard something about one of the resolutions being only good for a year...
PS: I wanna say how proud I am of my Congressional representatives... Senators Sessions and Shelby led the fight to kill the Amnesty Bill... And now MY Congressman, Aderholt, is the first name on the list to kill this blantant attack on the 1st Amendment...
Time for a happy dance...

Again someone correct me if I'm wrong but the Speaker can vote but usually only does so on extremely important bills. Evidently squashing the 1A wasn't extremely important enough to go on record for with '08 coming up!

My feelings exactly, Laz. Senator Sessions has been getting a good bit of TV face-time lately and his intelligent, straight-forward commentary is something about which the people of Alabama, and the United States, can be justly grateful - and proud.

I just e-mailed Pence thanking him for looking after our right to free speech.
May I suggest you all do the same, my friends. Decent people like him ought to be encouraged. It's not every day that someone in CONgress show the courage to stand up to liberal autocracy.

Nancy Pelosi did say it was going to be number one on her agenda. Did the senate get a good enough nosefull that they didn't go for this one?

One can only hope so, Kathy. If they didn't learn anything this time, they never will.

Today a very similar bill was introduced in the U.S. Senate:
LINk (http://phoenix.bizjournals.com/phoenix/stories/2007/06/25/daily54.html)
by McCain?????
What does he think he's doing now, this doesn't square at all with that bill he "co-sponsored" with that totalitarian a few years back.
Still, it'd be interesting to see how certain Senators would vote on this.

Pomeroy (D-ND) actually voted for this one!! I think I'll do a happy dance, too!! http://freeconservatives.com/smilies/smily0016.gif
Dorgan & Pomeroy seem to know they represent a fairly conservative constituency...a fact I think Conrad has forgotten.

He screwed the pooch on McCain/Feingold and now the immigration bill, he has to show some hint of conservative behavior otherwise he would look like he is to the left of the she devil herself, Hitlery!

I could see McCain going either way on the Fairness Doctrine. But given that Medved - that neocon Bushbot - was head over heals for the amnesty bill - he might be looking for an endorsement through talk radio.
More seriously, I think McCain is trying to use talk radio in his favor by getting Rush and such to put a good word in for him.

Without exception, the NOES were RATs. How surprising.Unfortunately, the party key didn't come through in the copy. However, according to the stats at the top, 6 "'Pubs" voted no (thus for the so-called Fairness Doctrine). Democrats split about 50-50 on the question. :(

I'm surprised that the Red Baron (http://baronhill.house.gov/) voted to ban the "fairness doctrine".
What does he think he's doing now, this doesn't square at all with that bill he "co-sponsored" with that totalitarian a few years back.
Trying to convince conservatives that he isn't a Communist. Sorry John, not buying it.

The way this table reformats in Wyatt's original post may be misleading:
Ayes Noes PRES NV
Democratic 113 115 1 6
Republican 196 6
Independent
TOTALS 309 115 1 12
The number 6 after the word Republican makes it appear that 6 voted No. It may be that those voting No or PRES were left blank, and the 6 NV got shifted over so that they appeared to be No votes.
