I'm left wondering...what the heck happened to her arm that would leave such a NASTY scar?

She's a beauty, all right...as are many women of Indian heritage. Rushdie must be quite a guy...then again, she's asking for the divorce, so maybe not so much.

Knowing the fanaticism which pervades islame, I'm surprised he's still alive...the increased terrorist activity in Britain may have something to do with her decision.

Padma Lakshmi has such a scar, a remnant of a car accident she endured as a teenager, and it too adds something to her beauty, perhaps an element of mystery. “I'm very glad to have that scar,” she says firmly, meaning she is grateful to have survived.

It's probably a wise move. The moon-god worshippers won't rest until Rushdie is murdered. This will put a safety gap between him and her, and she'll be less likely to get her own head hacked off.

So this means she'll be available ... I wonder what her stance in on beneficent autocrats ... hmm ...

Unknown. However, when England knighted Rushdie, the Rage Level of the towel-headed camel-rapers went from Murderous to Insane, so it made their marriage far more perilous.

I'm sure he's an interesting guy - clever and witty. But even that gets tedious. This will be Salman's 4th divorce.

I watched last season's Top Chef and never noticed Padma's scar before.

1. Why would a woman who looks like her marry a man who looks like him?

2. Does she still get to be Lady Whoever?

Some women don't focus on looks. Some like cops, some like military men :biggrin:, there must be some out there who like writers. Maybe that's how he wooed her. Marilyn Monroe was said to have a thing for Albert Einstein.
