View Full Version : My teacher, the Enviromentalist, what should I do?

If you're a Conservative or a Libertarian, you won't believe this! I was getting straight A's in my Summer School Social Studies Class (I had to take it because I couldn't focus because of my ADHD, but I got meds now), it all dropped down the toilet when the teacher started to teach Global Warming.
She asked each and every of us if we're a doubter or a believer, when I was asked, I said "I'm a doubter."
"Why?" She asked.
"Because, I just don't see how man can affect the wheather," said I.
"But man can affect and build machinery."
"Machinery is artificial, wheather is natural."
"What about the ice caps melting, do you believe if they do melt we'll flood?"
"Nope, you take a glass of water and place ice cubes in it. Watch it, when the ice cubes melt, the water stays at the same level. It's the same with the ice caps, in my opinion." That ended the discussion, we got an assignment that said to write a five sentence paragraph on why you are a doubter or a believer.
I did the work, same as everyone else. I got an F on it, which is insane. One kid got an F too, and he was a doubter. All the believers got A's and B's. We checked their papers, and they had the same style of writing!
What should I do?

Nate: Go to our Global Climate Forum (http://www.freeconservatives.com/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=79) and start reading. There are tons of evidence supporting the fact that global warming is natural and is being caused by increased solar activity. The effect of CO2 on the climate is so tiny that it can be disregarded. In fact, ice core samples show that over thousands of years increased temperatures precede increased amounts of CO2 by 400 to 800 years. In other words, increased temperatures cause increased CO2, not the other way around as the junk scientists claim.
Look in the thread, Great Global Warming Swindle Video Free Download (http://www.freeconservatives.com/vb/showthread.php?t=49211), follow the instructions to download the video, and then watch it. It will provide you with tons of information to counteract the global warming lies.

Well you are partially right but you are also partially wrong. The ice in the Arctic Ocean would not raise sea levels if it melted, however the ice in Greenland and Antarctica will raise sea levels if the ice melts due to the fact that the ice is currently being supported by land. The amount that the increase in sea levels is debatable though.
I once had a teacher that I didnt see eye to eye with. The way I handled it was simple. I just told her that if I didnt pass that she would just have to deal with me again next year. (I think that 6 months of me looking right into her eyes every class got to her though) The grades I got werent stellar but they were adequate to get me out of there

Ask him/her what global warming has to do with Social Studies. Wouldn't that qualify under Science? Assuming they teach Science in our government retraining camps anymore?
Do your parents know about this? Sometimes a little talk with the administration helps, sometimes it doesn't. Consider taking a tape recorder/MP3 recorder into class and getting these morons on the record if this persists. A cease-and-desist letter from either the ACLJ or FIRE has made a lot of leftists clean up their acts. These radical hippies need to be exposed for what they are and held accountable.

Qs for the Gorebot:
1. Are you aware that there was global climate change while man was still living in caves?
2. Are you aware that Greenland was so named by Eric the Red because there were farming communities on it?
3. Are you aware that there was vegetation where mammoths are being found encased in ice?
4. Are you aware that in the 1970s, the same fear-mongering "scientists" that are screeching about Gorebull Warming were hand-wringing about an imminent ice age?
5. Are you aware that the major "greenhouse gas" in the atmophere is water vapor, that clouds are the primary temperature regulator, and that the sun is THE source of warming?
6. Are you aware that there is global warming on Mars?
7. Are you aware that a consensus is NOT scientific? The fact that a majority of people believe something does not mean that it's true.
8. Why do you think that the climate of today is ideal for Earth? Isn't that arrogant?
9. Why do you believe that man is capable of doing anything to prevent climate change?
10. If you're so obsessed with EEEEE-vill man being the cause of Gorebull Warming by generating CO2, why not put a bullet through your mockery of a brain and reduce the annual human output of CO2 by 800 pounds per year? Lead by example, moron!
Note: #10 is not recommended until AFTER you get your final grade.

it isnt worth suffering a grade hit by a mentally challenged instructor
you wont feel good about it, but you wont fail the class either.

Jag Wife is absolutely right. What does global warming have to do with social studies? Let me guess, first it was the Europeans who started to go bad things to the environment then it progressed with Americans. Now, all environmental issues are due to Americans, who are bad, bad people. The worst of the bad people are the men, specifically white men, who invented most of the stuff we rely on that is systematically "destroying" the universe.
Oh wait, no, I'm wrong. It's actually George W's fault. Since he started an illegal war and is not in favor of gay marriage, the sunburn you get in the summer is his fault.
(I'm not certain W is against gay marriage since he's a liberal 'n all)

Ask this moron if s/he's ever heard of the Bering Straight...It's a body of water between Russia and Alaska. It is roughly 50 miles wide and about 165 feet deep. It USED to be a "land bridge" across which the American Indians, Incas, Mayans and Aztecs all crossed to get to this hemisphere.
Then tell her ocean levels have been on the rise for some time and the industrialization of western culture had NOTHING to do with it.

Nate you are learning that there are some people who are immoral and irrational. They are the worse kind when they have both of the characteristics
Your teacher is at least immoral since she penalized you for having a certain viewpoint.A viewpoint she does not agree with and has made you suffer for it.
That is Immoral.
A social studies teacher teaching global warming and making the type of statements you mentioned is an irrational person since global warming is supposed to a science discussion. She then punished you with an F grade for writing a viewpoint that she can not accept. This from a social studies teacher!
That is irrational.

Enviro-wackos acknowledge that there has been global warming and cooling throughout history; however, they assert that climate change is occurring much faster now than it has in the past, and that this is due to the increase in greenhouse gases attributable to the internal-combustion engine, deforestation, and industrialization--all human causes.

Okay, sorry I couldn't post sooner, I was busy writing about seven short horror stories. Here's what happened, when the bell rang for us to leave, I left a note saying "I'm a Rush baby, and damn proud of it."
My mom and I went to Wal-Mart, and I found my Left-Wing teacher with a pissed off expression on her face.

Reminds me of a high school English class. I disagreed with some point on government insuring equality, and my teacher asked, "You don't believe that all people are created equal?"
I said, "Sure I do. But whether or not they remain equal after that is completely up to them." Several of my black classmates agreed with me. The teacher didn't completely agree with me, but she later told me I had made an excellent point.

Yes, this is on the right track - definitely. Ask parents to complain however - don't know what good it will do for a student to fight with an ignorant, politically-smitten teacher. Ask on what basis the grade was given - academic assessment or political position? It's in social studies class - the low grade shouldn't be allowed on the basis of this teacher's faulty propaganda-driven understanding of physical science. Make note: the fact that Al Gore's film is totally filled with lies is well known. Gore is - as a matter of fact - in politics, not science. Sheesh - if the parents have the money and stamina, they should sue.
BTW: Ice melt worries are related to ice melt from land, not ice in the water; so the ice melt in the glass experiment doesn't really matter - unless you were responding to claims that ice-berg melt is a problem. The problem with the ice melt is not that sea levels would rise if ALL the ice melted from say - Greenland, but that it's clear that it's not going to any time soon. That was a lie promoted by Al Gore. No scientist supports the idea that it's going to happen anytime in the foreseeable future - regardless of their opinion on what drives climate.

CONFESSIONS FROM A FORMER GREENHOUSE SCIENTIST (http://boortz.com/nuze/index.html)
David Evans used to be a consultant to the Australian Greenhouse Office. He spent six years with the Australian government building models about the influence of carbon emissions on our atmosphere. This was the Aussie who wrote the carbon accounting model that measures Australia's compliance with the Kyoto Protocol.
Well .. guess what Dr. Evans is saying today? Since he started working in the office in 1999, "new evidence has seriously weakened the case that carbon emissions are the main cause of global warming." By the year 2007, the evidence is conclusive: carbon played only a minor role in recent global warming and was not the main cause.
Dr. Evans put together some basic facts for the public and government officials in regards to global warming. Here is just a taste (http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,25197,24036736-7583,00.html).
1. The greenhouse signature is missing. We have been looking and measuring for years, and cannot find it.
2. There is no evidence to support the idea that carbon emissions cause significant global warming.
3. The satellites that measure the world's temperature all say that the warming trend ended in 2001, and that the temperature has dropped about 0.6C in the past year (to the temperature of 1980).
4. The new ice cores show that in the past six global warmings over the past half a million years, the temperature rises occurred on average 800 years before the accompanying rise in atmospheric carbon. Which says something important about which was cause and which was effect.
