Since the tragic loss of our beloved Taffy Candy, I have become quite the camera-bug snapping shots of our other dogs so we would have plenty. Here are a couple of the good ones. How could ANYONE take such adorable creatures and turn them into fighting machines??? (re: Michael Vick) The first one is Bodacious, the other is UGA.

Those are some great pics, Homes. I agree, take as many as possible. I had tons of pics of our last kitty who passed away. As a matter of fact, I took her last pic one day before her death.

Snap away, use different settings. That's what I say. That's how you can become a really good photographer and help preserve some really great memories, too.

Since our previous cat passed, I never hesitate to take Ronnie's picture whenever the opportunity presents itself and I have pics of him from when he was a kitten up to now.

It helps that he's so vain. LOL

Great pic, Beastie! :thumb:

We're kitty lovers too, but with two American Bulldogs, a Rottweiler, and a Savannah Monitor I'm afraid a little kitty would be an endangered species around here, LOL.

My daughter's pet before our Taffy (the one that passed recently) was a beautiful black kitten (8 mos old) we got from the humane society. He was beautiful, with a white patch under his neck. Unfortunately he had a kidney condition that neither the humane society nor we knew about and he died just before his 1st birthday. So my daughter has lost two pets in a row and it's been rather hard on her, however having the pics of Taffy (that I made into a movie for her) has helped a lot. I wish so badly I had taken shots of her kitty, .

Your kitty is really cute. Thanks for your advice about the pics, I really appreciate it! http://www.freeconservatives.com/vb/images/icons/icon7.gif

Oh my gosh Suzie, those kitties ARE adorable!! I love those faces. I'm mainly a dog person, but I tell you if you get a really good kitty, they steal into your heart unlike any other pet.

We (my Dad and I) gave my Mom a kitty one year as a gift, and he was the most extraordinary cat. When he got mad at us (for leaving him home alone too long) he would actually take and tuck his tail up underneath him between his back legs and then flick it like he was flicking us a bird, it was hilarious.

I wouldn't mind having another loving kitty, but I'm afraid our array of critters prohibits that right now, :smirky:

Well they are SOOOO much easier to take care of than a dog. We have one of those auto sifting cat boxed and I can put out a feeder and a water dispenser and go away for a week and he is fine.

I can't see me going outside in the middle of the night for anything to go to the bathroom (even though I am from WV ;) )

Thanks, Shadow really is the best cat we have ever had. He really acts more like a dog. He meets us at the door when we come home. Stays in the same room with us most of the time. Wants you to pet him. He likes people and comes to see who's here when we have company. During the day if he isn't in the window he actually follows me around the house. Our other cats were all the kind you have to search for under beds to find. This one comes when you call him. He even plays fetch with milk rings and toy mice.

You got a VERY good kitty it sounds like -- I've had nice ones and nasty ones, but every one had such a unique personality, it was really remarkable. I even had a kitten that LIKED the bathtub ... he would wander in while I was taking a shower and slide down the angled side of the tub into the water like a waterslide. He'd jump right back up on the edge of the tub and do it again and again and again until I got out.

Sounds like you have a perfect addition to your family :thumb:

As for the ease of care, you do have a point, but I wouldn't trade the sheer joy of my dogs' faces when we get back home. They are so unconditionally loving, it makes a heart burst with happiness. Our two babies are just the greatest.

The first one my daughter got I am convinced was the spawn of hell. So we were due a good one.

When I got this cat I took him to the vet and one of the guys working there I went to high school with. He told me black male and black and white male cats have the best personalities and no one really seems to know why. I believe it because my first cat as a child was a black and white male named Sylvester and he was a great cat, reminds me a lot of this one we have now.

I had an all white cat once too that was deaf, he was a good cat. Some how he always knew when we were home too. I don't know if it was the vibration of the car motor or what but he would come to the door and be waiting for us.
If he was doing something we didn't want him to we could stomp the floor and he would feel that and stop. It was really kinda neat. I could vacuum him and he loved it because he couldn't hear the sound of it. Handy for getting loose hair. :D

The only differences are my cat is white from the chin all through her belly, has some dark orange hair, and she has white paws and a pink nose.

Thanks for dropping that pile on a perfectly innocent, nice thread.
Hey. It's an honest remark. :thumb:

Wrong. It's tasteless and totally inappropriate. If you don't purge it, I will.

Update: TCO.

The Cats with the flat, smashed faces, those are Persians. There's a number of Sub-Classes depending on coloring and markings, but all of them are of the Persian breed.

They're quite the pair and the little guy, Roo, is hyper when awake. Fortunately, being cats, they sleep ALOT:
