Her grandmother is 99 years old. She lives alone and takes care of herself. She has some memory problems and problems distinguishing reality from what's going on the television set.

I was speaking to this young woman who insisted that grandma should just "let go" and pass on. Grandma is not terminal, or even ill! She's in good health. There is no letting go and quietly passing on when a person is in good health.

But, this woman insisted, Grandma is mentally ill. She thinks whats happening on television is real. But grandma doesn't know she's mentally ill, she thinks people are visiting her. Still, the granddaughter insisted, Grandma is too old to keep on living she needs to pass away whether she wants to or not.

This horrifying point of view is what the culture of death has brought to us courtesy of colleges and universities.

Its unfortunate that the youth of today understand less about thier society than the grandmother that they are hoping will go ahead and die quietly. isnt it?

All I can say is: Granddaughter, you are a dumbass.

Perhaps she could ask grandma about the great depression. A conversation in that line could be very educational for anyone. Dont think that times will always be good for you, shit happens to everyone.

And also, sadly, the "women's rights" movement, . It's not so hard to go from the devaluation of preborn life to that of elder life. What is so very, very heartbreaking to me -- after the Holocaust, the attrocities in Iraq (during Saddam), Darfur, etc., how could anyone not be completely pro-life, it's beyond me.

(And before a single fibunist, demunist, or liberazi spouts out about the death penalty, we are talking INNOCENT life here, not the guilty who have been duly indicted, convicted, and sentenced, forfeiting THEIR life for the one(s) they took -- that's a whole different ball of wax, so don't EVEN go there, http://www.freeconservatives.com/vb/images/icons/icon8.gif )

There will never be another world wide outcry over another holocaust. It will be a worldwide shrug of the shoulders. There will be "well, whites committed genocide against the _____" fill it in yourself"

If WWII were to happen today, Hitler and Goebbles would be the world heroes they always thought they should have been. Not because they killed Jews, but because they killed innocents. The culture values the life of Tookie Williams BECAUSE he was a cold blooded murderer, BECAUSE he joked about it, BECAUSE he could do it. For that, his death was mourned and he got what amounted to a state funeral. His victims were not even worth a mention.

Death is becoming more valuable than life itself.

I couln't agree more.

Am I correct in guessing that the young friend has no children of her own?
(Of course, some people don't have the residual humanity to benefit from even that life-affirming event...)

That's pretty sick. Liberalism is a mental disease, after all.

Frightening, but not surprising given today's culture--and it's not only the culture of death, but of selfishness. Think of the number of future doctors willing to let grandma go when our healthcare is rationed.

I reiterate. There is no letting go! Grandma is NOT under a doctor's care for on-going illness or disease. She's healthy! Her heart is strong, her lungs are clear, her vital organs are humming right along and she takes NO medication.

What's to "let go"? This was my argument with the granddaughter. Since there is not "letting go". Grandma would have to be murdered. This is just what the granddaughter thinks should happen, because grandma is "so old anyway".

First, Grandma, who doesn't know that what's on TV isn't real (it isn't?). Eventually, it will be those who think that the lives of Hollywood celebrities matter. Then it will be the celebs themselves. Watch the excrement strike the ventilator then!

I think I would've slapped granddaughter upside her punk-ass head and told her, "you know what? You're life means nothing to me. You need to just "let go". You're not needed. You're life should come to a skreeching halt, RIGHT NOW. Do you want to overdose or should I blow your brains out?" just to see the look on her face.

Then, I'd try to explain to her that ALL life is precious and to remember, some day SHE'LL find herself in gramma's shoes.

I've said it before and I'll say it many times in the days, months, and years to come..."Welcome to the Godless society". Liberalism is the curse of mankind.
