Two South Carolina Toddlers Found Dead in Trash Bags Under Sink
Tuesday, July 31, 2007
HANAHAN, S.C. — Two toddlers were found dead in trash bags under a sink and their mother was taken to a hospital for evaluation, authorities said Tuesday.
The mother took the children to work with her Monday and left them in the car all day, Berkeley County Coroner Glenn Rhoad told The Associated Press. Rhoad said he did not immediately know the cause of death but autopsies would be done Tuesday.
The toddlers, a 1-year-old girl and a 4-year old boy, were found when authorities responded to a domestic disturbance call Monday night, authorities said....http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,291524,00.html

GOD Bless the police that have to respond to things like this. I don't think I could handle it. I pray they aren't haunted by it. I would be.

I would be.I think all first responders and emergency medical people need a prayer said on their behalf. My daughter recently gave CPR,for over one hour, to a 23 month boy (a victim of drowning)and lost him.She was a basket case for two days. This is way more than a 26 year old should have to go through.I fear she will burn out before she is 40,but she loves her work.

The mother took the children to work with her Monday and left them in the car all day ...An autopsy is doubtless mandatory, but I have no doubt whatever that the little ones died horrible deaths during the day.
Temperatures in Charleston reached 88 degrees on Monday. In addition to the risk of being abducted if they are left alone in a car, on a typical summer day, the temperature inside a car (even with the windows rolled down a little) can quickly rise above 120 to 140 degrees. Even on a relatively mild day, the temperature inside a car can get above 100 degrees. At those temperatures, kids are at great risk for heat stroke, which can lead to a high fever, dehydration, seizures, stroke and death.
[snip]
Remember, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 'a locked car sitting in the summer sun quickly turns into an oven,' and 'temperatures can climb from 78 degrees to 100 degrees in just three minutes, to 125 degrees in 6-8 minutes.'
[snip]
In fact, over 230 children have died after being left in a hot car (sometimes on relatively mild days with only 70 degree temperatures) since 1998.Kids in Hot Cars Alert (http://pediatrics.about.com/od/safety/a/05_hot_cars.htm)
This was at the very least negligent homicide. Words fail me.
This world has gone mad...God help us all.
