Federal Heights, Colo., Mayor Dale Sparks’ second occupation has landed him with criminal charges.

According to the Rocky Mountain News, Sparks, who has been mayor of the city since 1999, was a doorman at nightclub Bare Essence for just over a year. He is now charged with complicity in a criminal enterprise and violations of the city's adult entertainment code.

It sounds like an unusual town that would elect a strip-club bouncer to be its mayor. Or let a mayor stay in office that moonlights that way.

Reminds me of a certain former mayor of Cincinnati, who hired a prostitute and paid her with a check -- then had the chutzpah to run for governor of Ohio. When that didn't work out, he later demonstrated how low he could really go.
