HAHAHA Dachshund's, while they are cute (much the same way a Hamburger is "cute") are probably the most useless dogs next to the Chihuahua.

Granted, small dogs may be someones preferred pet... but how many times have you walked by a house, as a kid, and uttered the words "Oh Shit! RUN! THE DACHSHUND GOT OUT OF THE FENCE!" ?

If someone breaks into your house, the dog is not going to attack, he's going to be a SNACK!

OTOH, if you are troubled by badgers and rabbits (http://www.i-love-dogs.com/dog-breeds/Dachshund.html) making holes in your yard, the li'l buggers are bred to hunt them in their burrows.
